How do you explain vaping to others?

I've just tell people the truth. It's not smoke it's flavored water vapor with nicotine. Usually I just get a 'Huh, well how 'bout that?'. If they have anymore questions I try to answer as best I can.
That is a really good question. I guess it depends on how they ask me? I think my usual answer is to explain that I quit smoking, and now I am using this personal vaporizer that doesn't have any burning tobacco in it, so doesn't have any 2nd hand smoke, or tar, etc. and that I get to taste great flavors instead like gooey caramel cookies.
I say that it is vapor. I show them my tank and tell them it is flavored liquid with nicotine in it and the liquid gets vaporized. It gives me the motions of smoking without burning and releasing the chemicals and tar into my lungs. What gets exhaled is basically water vapor. 
Short answer I just tell people it's an electronic cigarette. If they seem curious about it I will usually go into more detail for them. I also keep a couple business cards from vendors on me, the ones that have some info about vaping on the back of them.
It depends on the tone of voice of the person asking. I usually reply that it is an electronic cigarette and I have haven't touched a real cigarette in X days (22!)... if they're interested, I'll tell them how it works and about the different juice types, that it's only water vapour, not smoke, that it's healthier than smoking etc etc etc but it depends on their interest. If they're smokers and they say they'd like to think about getting one, I'll give them my name and tell them to add me on FB so we can talk about it more.x
this is probably the best answer. It's also great for picking up chicks !!! Just like Titanium, no one has bothered asking me. They all assume I'm smoking. But I'm picking up some interesting advice from this thread in case I do get asked.....
I pretty much say the same things mentioned above but I did notice I got a lot of strange looks from people 
I tell people it's nicotine enhanced flavored water also. I NEVER use the term 'electronic cigarette', I prefer 'nicotine inhaler' as most people only hear blah blah CIGARETTE blah blah.
