Walmart is full of clones of someones original design. Every big city I've been too has street vendors or small shops selling knock offs of designer brands, as well as buying them online. If I buy a nemesis clone I don't think I'm taking anything away from the designer, who produces in low numbers and sells them at higher prices to keep them rare. I do think it is wrong to pass off a clone as an original though.

design, illustration, and ergonomics combine to make ones mod not

simply a battery holder.in any other market they are called counterfeits.

if buying a counterfeit is an adult decision so be it. i don't want to hear any complaining

from clone buyers on how they are being ripped off of their hard earned

money by evil mod makers.send your money directly to China.

even though its one of the reasoms our economy sucks and can't provide

jobs that pay decent enough to be able to afford some nicer things.

keep on living that self fulfilling prophesy.

Our economy doesn't suck because people are buying clones, that is an absurd statement. In fact, many buy their clones from local shops, putting money in to the local economy. This isn't a politics debate so I won't go into the reasons our economy is where it is at, but it's not from mercantile purchasers

I buy clones because it's what I can realistically afford, or at least justify. I don't try to pass them off as real to brag/ show off. As others have stated, the original mod maker isn't 'losing out' by my purchasing clones - I wouldn't buy the original at 100+ pounds. If people do have the disposable income to buy authentic mods then great, go for it.

Opinions vary, mustangii. Some want nothing less than the real deal, while some will settle for clones, because they are considerably less expensive in most cases. There is an old saying...."Cost is only an issue in the absence of value"...so if you find value in clones, buy them. retic1959 is spot on, though....what you spend your money on is your business-and yours alone. Nice meeting you! :)
