How do you know if a battery is protected?

I buy IMR batteries, and use them on mechs and vamos. They are supposed to be a safer chemistry from what I understand, but are not protected. They usually have a higher Amp limit on them too. I don't know if you can still find them but I use Panasonic CGR1860CH. For High Amp limit Batteries, I have heard good things about Sony US18650VTC3 18650 batteries, they are supposed to be good for sub-ohm builds but they are only 1600 ma.

    Counterfit batteries are everywhere, so you have a valid question. AND, believe me, counterfeiters can be pretty convincing. One thing you can count on, no counterfeiter is going to use an expensive cell to place someone elses label on. They will always be the cheapest cells they can find sold for as much as they can get.

    This makes TRUSTED SOURCES your best friend, and bargain hunting your worse enemy.
