How do you know which atty (ohms) you need for your vape?

Wattage is the factor that you need to figure out. And how it affects flavor, vapor and throat hit. High wattage gives you more vapor and throat hit. However too high of wattage will washout or burn certain flavors. Too low of wattage will not bring out certain flavors.
In general, stronger flavors - tobacco, chocolate, coffee, etc. need high wattage to bring out full flavor. Lighter flavors - fruit, berry, most sweets, vanilla - need lower wattage.
Wattage is determined by the combination of the volts of the battery and the resistance of the coils/attys. You get the desired wattage three ways.
- a fixed voltage from a battery - then varying the ohms on the coils - lower ohms equals higher wattage; higher ohms equals lower wattage.
- a fixed ohms on a coil - then varying the voltage on the battery - if you have a 2.2ohm coil - you increase wattage by increasing voltage and decrease wattage by lowering voltage.
- a combination of the two above where you can vary both the ohms and voltage to achieve the wattage you want.
Here's a chart to give you an idea of the 'safe' or desirable range for most flavors:
Since you have a variable voltage battery - you can get any wattage with any of the choices on the evod - 1.5Ω, 1.8Ω, 2.2Ω or 2.4-2.6Ω. However, you can save stress on the battery and the coil by going in the middle - 2.2ohms.
IF you happen to only like stronger flavors, then 1.8Ω coils would do well - letting you use less voltage and hence using less of your battery charge.
If you're still sampling flavors to find out what you like, then get a regular Joye 510 atomizer (2.2ohms) and a drip tip and then drip a few drops into the atty and taste. Turn the dial on the Twist until you get the best flavor from what you're sampling. Put a few drops of PG or VG/H2O no-nic, no flavor to cleanse the atty and try another flavor - find the voltage that brings out the best flavor (and vapor and throat hit) .... rinse and repeat

Welcome. Yeah, it's wattage not voltage but voltage is part of it. A VG based ejuice will help on the vapor as well. If you can find a strong flavor that you like that can take the wattage, then there's a plus on the big vapor as well.
