A cisco 306 atty works well. You can blow it out and vape some pg/vg through it and if your next flavor is not radically different you don't have to do a cleaning between flavors. If you are going to sample a deep tobacco and then a light fruit you might want to wash it or have a couple of attys. Also the LR cisco 306 attys tend to really let you notice all the nuances of the flavor.

If you don't have any atomizers and since you use cartotanks I assume you use cartomizers? If so you can gently pull the filling out of some old cartomizers that still work and drip a few drops into it, down the side not into the center .. it will act as an atomizer. Don't put more than 5 drops in, otherwise it will drip out the bottom. I don't use cartomizers anymore but have a bunch of old ones that I use just for testing new flavors, works great.

I have some old 510 attys for the little cartos that came with my starter kit, I've been using those but you can't clean them, and they blow out pretty quickly. Definitely going to pick up a couple of drip attys on my next order.

I JUST emptied the trash, tossed a bunch of old cartos too. They would be perfect.

Old thread but I decided to share what I use. I originally posted this in a dripper thread but I've added a little more info to share here.

I mod CE3 clearomizers and turn them into drippers. They're relatively cheap, rebuildable, and you can change flavors on the fly. They also taste "clean" because all you have is a small wick and coil. No bridge, or steel mesh to deal with. Of course it takes a little more effort to drip these since you gotta go down the sides, but not much more work IMO. These things are well worth the money and testing with these is a breeze.

These are available from VaporAlley. They are the only one's I use/tried so I can't comment on others. For all I know any of these type CE3's would work. Buy the clear or yellow if possible... easier to see the juice.

The CE3's come in 2.4 - 2.6 or 3.0 - 3.2 ohm ratings. I don't like them being so high ohm so I immediately rebuild them to about 1.6 - 1.8 ohms using 32g kanthal (4 wraps) and 2 or 3mm silica or fiberglass wicks.

Inside the box there is also a syringe I use for cleaning. You'll need some sort of tube to fit both the syringe and plastic tube so you can shoot water through the device. You should be able to find a suitable tubing at your local hardware store.

Just wanted to share this with the DIY community. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

EDIT... for some reason ECF malforms the direct link to the CE3's at VaporAlley. When you get there, just type "CE3" in the search box.

Not rebuild-able, use and clean in ethyl alcohol or vodka.

You see, with the HH.357 or 306 atomizers, cleaning and conditioning take time to do. There's no mesh involved with these so there's hardly any residual juice left in the dripper once you vape the two drops out. Very, very fast and clean. Cleaning takes less than a minute.

As I stated, with this set up, you can actually change flavors on the fly. You can also mix flavors on the fly if you drop one drop of flavor on one side of the tube, and another drop on the other side. It's hard to tell by the photos, but there's a void between the plastic tube and the upper metal piece surrounding the wick. This void will hold two drops of liquid... capable of giving you about 6 strong double drags before the liquid runs out. I actually don't only use these just for testing, I vape on these throughout the day... mostly mixing juices.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting the HH.357 or 306's down, it's just the application these CE3's can be used for.

I'm going to be putting up a blog on these (with photos) in a few days since some people have PM'd me about it. It's very easy to set up but there are considerations involved worth mentioning.

I'm really curious as well, I use spinner batteries and evod and protank tanks. I would love to figure out how to just sample some of my juice without gunking up a coil.

These will work great for you. They only require two drops of liquid so they're small and quick. Here's a pair sitting on two of my Vamo's.
