pretty much as the title says. so i have a ton of new flavors from vendors that are "made to order" and i cant really taste much. i know i need to steep them but for how long, everyone gives a different answer... so how do you guys test them? right now i only have 808's and cartos and just got some fluxomizer ce2-x. i dont really want to fill a carto, just try a drop or so to see if its ready. i tried the ce2 but broke the bowl where the atomizer is by trying to remove the plugs... the ce2 leaves a lingering flavor since the liquid travels down the with even just a drop.
i also started to try some DIY so i definitely need a way to taste what im making haha
thanks

An atty is still the easiest way for me to taste test with 2 drops. I've used a gutted ce2 in the past but if I drip in the center I get leaking too easily, and if I hit the wicks on the sides the flavors accumulate and blend together. Not bad but not great for taste testing. A drop or two of plain PG in between can give you a more accurate taste.

solardrgn, are you using manual or auto KR808's?

If you are using manuals, get yourself a couple 901 atomizers, standard resistance, which are compatible with your KR808 batteries. I get mine here: DSE-901/905 Atomizer and shipping is cheap. I've only used mine for testing juices (I don't drip as a daily way of vaping) and I'm still using the original one purchased about a year ago... I clean it with a vodka soak, rinse with water, dry and put away until the next tasting session. If you don't have any manuals, the above site also has cheap KR808 manuals.

If you are using autos don't "drip" at all as you risk getting juice down in the battery and shorting it out.

i have some sealed autos so it should be ok to drip right? my next question was going to be what atty works on an 808 but your ahead of me!! :)

Safer than regular autos but still a risk over manuals. The "sealed" autos don't have the center hole in the battery post, but if you look closely at the sides of the center post you'll see that there are holes on the side of it instead. You still risk getting juice down in there so you would have to be very, very careful..... It's up to you but I highly recommend getting a manual battery for use with the atty.

Yes, you can, by carefully pulling out the poly fiber. There are directions somewhere on ECF and I did a quick search but couldn't find the thread. Many people do it but I've never had any success; always ruin it in the process. For a klutz like me, a $5.95 atty that I've used for a year for testing purposes only versus ruining a couple of $2.00 cartos for a sub-par atty or using old cartos that will make a poor performing atty--- I chose the $5.95 option.

If I find the thread about the carto to atty mod, I'll post it.

i never noticed those 2 tiny holes on the side! i kinda wondered how they worked haha

3ml tank  that would take me days haha, 1-2 cartos usually last me all day haha

as for that mod, i always thought that since there's still wicking material, flavors would still stay "absorbed" somewhere. ill look into geting a 901 atty and try that out thought. thanks!

Well there's a deal at CHERRYVAPE. two LR 510 atty's and a pawn drip tip for $20. Not a bad deal since the atty's are usually about $7-$8 and the pawn drip tip is $8 too. So you'd save $4 and I'm pretty sure there's still FREE shipping too ;)

I don't think those attys will work on the batteries that he has.

But still an awesome deal in general, so I'm glad someone mentioned it!
