Hello, I'm new to the forum and have been vaping for about 3 months.

I recently purchase a Joytech eGo-C passthrough. I've obviously dropped it a time or two and may occasionally jump out of an airplane with it in my pocket (i'm a paratrooper)

I was wondering how durable eGo batteries generally are, and if they can be dropped and still continue to function? I've jumped with a cheaper battery I bought in Europe and it ended up dying on me. Thanks all

Hi there, I have been using the Ego batteries since July 4, 2014. I have dropped them from my hand to the hardwood floor, pavement, and bare ground. Stll working fine. As far as the plane jump?? I will never be able to give you an answer on that one, sorry. I don't go close enough to one to find out. :) Hopefully someone else can come in here and answer that one for you. Good luck on future jumps!!

It really depends. I usually stick with joyetech only so I can't help you out with there makes and models but I have some that are 4 yesterday old and whilebthey don't last as long battery wise they still work. Now if you drop them just right the wire that leads to the bottom of the battery and the button can become severedand that will make the battery useless. If you are handy you can fix it but for some people it's just easier to buy another battery. I have dropped mine, stepped on it, slammed it in the hood of my Tahoe ect and they still work.

I have had the eGo C-Twist for almost a month and the button is already starting to stick, although I do really like it. My hubs had his for a month or so when the top started spinning around from twisting it into the charger too hard. He recently bought the Aspire CF VV and has not had any issues so far!

On my second set. First set 4 years, as back up batteries, still kicking ..... They are the 900mah ones.
Just picked up two of the 1600mah ones, and collars to support the tanks I put on them, hoping to have them around in another 4 years.
I have an old 1000mah one floating around here some where, hope to find it, lol.

if you scrape off the paint it's usually a steel tube on the outside.
off course there's lots of manufacturers of ego type batteries so there's going to be wide variations in quality.

in terms of drops and falls, the top part that fits on the tube is a part which is pressed into the tube; on some lower quality batteries that top part can get dislodged or bent by a fall.

I've got eGo's going back 3 years that have taken a good beating & they still perform well... When it comes to them type of batteries i've only every stuck with Joyetech. Had a couple where the firing button would start to cease but when that happens i just spray a little lubricant like WD40 and it's like brand new. Only ever use them now in emergencies but still, 3 years isn't bad. I guess it's hit & miss. I know people (Dad) that manages to break them literally every month.

3 years! wow! how often do those batteries get recharged, about once a week?
