How Fat is Too Fat?

I use 30ga but 32ga seems to be more popular, I got it on ebay dirt cheap 100ft for under $9.00 , I'm useing 2mm wick and folding it 2-3x but ordered 3mm today just because it's a little thicker. Best advice to you is watch videos on you tube on RDAs. don't worry they are very forgiving and not fussy like the steel mesh and wire RBAs And much easier to set up. .... If you get the octopus rda watch grimmgreen review on it because it works great after modifiying it. I also have igoL for 5-10 drop hold . and vision eternity which you can hold alot more 20-30 drops

Which RDA do you have?

I just bought an Igo-S and set it up with a doubled-over 2mm wick and a 5/6 wrap of 32ga Kanthal for use on top of a regular eGo battery. It meters in at 2ohms and vapes quite well. I set this one up for frequent flavor changes, so the wick is fairly short on both sides of the coil.

I'm new to recoiling and had no idea what I'd want. Since I only have eGo batteries, I researched and found 32, 31, or 30ga wire would work well, but there was no clear consensus about wicks. I bought the 32ga from Temco through Ebay.

For wick I just decided to order an assortment of short lengths from one of my regular vendors. I bought 1mm, 1.5, and 2mm. Since the wick that arrived with the Igo-S looked like 3mm, I decided go with the double 2mm option and see what happened. Turns out it works well, and I have no need to change my method or materials for this particular RDA.

If you don't have an RDA yet, the Igo-S seems to be a pretty nice starter. The holes in the posts make it really, really easy to attach the coil. My first attempt at wrapping a coil, while quite ugly, works very well; I attribute that to the ease of working with this atty.

There is no best way/method/material to use.
It all depends on each individual.
Take your time. Experiment, and enjoy the thrills of discovering what rocks you.

My setup may rock me, but taste like rotten socks to you. We are only giving our own personal preferences to give you an idea.

Thank you for this post!
I get so tired of arguing with the Know it all airheads that assume Their setup is the End All Be All and you must use it or you are a BIG LOOSER.
Heck, under recommendations I have sampled over 100 e-liquids in the past 10 months. I've repurchased a few dozen, but have yet to find anything I would remotely call an All Day Vape.

Wick - Really depends on what you want to build.
I mostly build SS tanks but I like my IGO-L's with folded 2mm and a 30ga wrap on the fold end at 1.4-1.6ohm I leave the tail long enough to circle the IGO-L Base 3/4 around.
