hi
so I've recently ordered a provape 1 thinking it'll be a good ecig for work since egos are always running out of battery and not really working that well. so I'm just wondering about how durable it is to be dropped??? I'm still waiting for it in the mail and kinda thinking i should've just ordered a provari. but then again it is going to be my going out device and i would not like to drop a provari if i owned one. but every single thread i see is always about the provari and not the provape 1.....that makes me wonder why i didn't just order a provari.....so can some of you provape1 owners reassure me i didn't make a bad choice. tell me some good things and bad things about the provape 1..
thanks!!!!!!

The Provape-1 is a very sturdy device, and will survive a beating just fine. The 14500 battery will last plenty if you stick to standard resistance. The biggest downside to the Provape-1 is that it is not a regulated voltage mod. A fresh battery will give you 4.2v, and that will drop with time, till it stops producing vapor.

Far as I'm concerned, Life's too short to worry about regrets for very long. I've got two (2) Provape-1's. Remember when the first one arrived, I thought what a club. Boy was I wrong. Also, have two (2) ProVari's, and one (1) Mini. Give your Provape-1 a try. It's a quite good single voltage device. If you decide to go ProVari later, the Provape-1 makes for a great backup. Personally, once I went variable, I couldn't look back. but hey, there's probably a bunch more folks using single voltage units than VV. I just happen to prefer the flexibility that VV affords. JMHO

Cheers,

I used a Provape1 for 2 years.... Nice 3.7 volt device... Use it with Low Resistance atomizers if you want any kind of performance out of it.... Hold on tight if you dont want to drop it... I always found the Provape1 to be a slippery little Devil, now the Provari on the other hand gives you a rock solid grip due to the design...
VV is the only way to go... For one thing atty resistance will change with usage, with the Provari you can check that and adjust the voltage accordlingly....
Plus with a Provari you will get the same hit every single time throughout the battery charge, with the Provape1 as battery voltage drops so does your vaper production.....
So should you of ordered a Provari instead? Duh.... You will end up geting one anyway..........

i just got my provape 1 in the mail today. but it seems to be lacking the warm vapor i like to get. I'm using the same lr attys and cartos with it as i did in my ego batteries. what kinda set up are you using on your provape 1 riverboat???? I'm getting about the same vapor production as i did with the ego, but its missing the warm vapor tho.
i expected it to be bigger but its actually quite small and fits real nice in the hand. I'm still pretty happy with it but now I guess its back to saving up for a provari!!

I dont have a provape, but a provari is not a going out device. That is one of the Provari's limitation since its bulky, heavy, and too expensive to risk damage, loss or theft

Your kidding me right? My Provari goes everywhere with me... Provari-Dont leave home without it vapor::vapor:

Heres the problem... I used Genuine Joyes on my Provape1... Do you ever notice that when the atty is new it hits like a champ with the LR attys? Since I got a Provari I can check my ohms(resistance).. When a LR is new its around 1.5 ohms. after usage it changes. Ive had Genuine Joye LRs read over 3 ohms after only a week or so... So lets say you have 3.7 volts at the atty.
When new.... 3.7v x 3.7v / 1.5 ohms= 9.125 watts, an ok vape
If the resistance goes up to 3 ohms then... 3.7v x 3.7v / 3 ohms = 4.56 watts. a weak vape
Yes I keep my attys clean, I have been a direct dripper for over 2.5 years, so yes I know how to work an atty.
I am currently using a custom HH357 2.5 ohm atty on my Provari... When it was new it read at 2.5-2.6 ohms.. But after only10 days it has gone down to 1.3-1.5 ohms, I have several Provaris to check the ohms with so I know this is an accurate reading. With the Provari I can lower my voltage to around 3.7v - 4.0v to accommodate the drop in resistance...
That way Im in my sweet spot area of 10 - 11 watts... Plus once again the Provari wiil keep a constant voltage to the atty until the battery needs to be recharged... I do love my Provaris..... What do I think is better than Variable voltage?
Variable Wattage... You set it to you sweet spot and it stays there even if your atty resistance changes....
If you like warm vapor you really need to be at 10 watts and higher...IMO

I've dropped both my Provari and my Provape1 a couple of times without anything more than scratches. Brick S***house comes to mind...

I keep a 1.5 ohm HH357 (1.3ohms) on the Provape 1, and a 2 ohm HH357 (1.9ohms) on the Provari at 4.2 volts. Both vape brilliantly. I use AW IMR batteries in both devices with a 1mm spacer magnet it the Provape 1.

In regards to your vape time issues, I keep a spare 14500 in the 5th pocket, next to the juice!

I hope this helps, and Vape On!

Daniel

I also ordered this unit and use it in my travels (I own 2 Provari VV at the moment). I was not super happy with it at the start as it seemed to have died on me, after some trouble shooting and giving the contacts a good cleaning, it is running like a champ. Provape is a great company and you will not be disappointed, enjoy vaping!
