Hey everyone, I just picked up a Provari, and got a 510, and 901 attys, and a few 510 cartos. I was mainly a carto person, but with the variable voltage and these attys, I really am seeing exactly why everyone goes the extra mile with the atomizers. Much more cooler, tastier, better TH type vapes. Though, I am curious as when to say 'enough is enough' and swap out attys. My 510 can take a pretty good beating. I can use that one for about an hour or so at 3.3-3.8 (very strong with the Provari), and it wont get TOO hot. But my 901 which I need to bump up to about 4.0 to get my optimal vape, and its a much cooler, smoother vape than the 510. Though, after only about 8-10 hits from it, it starts to get noticably hot. Is this normal, and I shouldnt worry? Are 901's known to get hot more easily than the 510? If so, is this something I should look at as being destructive to the atty, and immediately switch out to a different one? I am not sure if running hot is ok for the attys. Especially one that gets pretty warm pretty quickly.

Different types of atties will heat up faster than others. If you're hitting any atty 8-10 times in fairly quick succession, then they're bound to get hot. My LR 510s will get hotter faster than my 801s. You are right about running atties hot. It's not good for them and can definitely shorten the life. I have two different mods that I keep different atties on and I switch between the two. When one starts getting warm, I'll put it down and use the other one.
