:DMany of you have had problems with the auto battery draws and manuals. I have a defective purple battery that was way to hard to activate. I had to pull real hard on it just to get it to lite for 2 secs. I saw that the hole in the middle on the thread end was very small. I realized that there wasnt enough suction to turn it on. So after trying plumbers tape and several other methods that didnt work I went for my idea.

I took a 1/3 inch drill bit (for making holes). I stuck it in the middle and twisted it by hand so that I didnt ruin it. It took a long time but it got as big as the other autos I got. Then I took tacky glue with works in high heat situations for sowing. I glued all the air holes on the threads, scraped off the excess and waited for it to dry. Then poked the glue holes with smaller width needles until I got my desired draw.

So now it works great. Activates super easy and is my favorite battery. I dont know if anyone else tried this method but it worked real well. Its super sensitive but not too sensitive and hits really nice. i got loads of vapor out of it. Right now its better then my xl manual (for certain liquids). So I hope this helps someone with the draw problems. Its an easy fix. But it works great.

1/3" is bigger than the battery. Did you mean 1/32"?

How do you figure?

Batteries need cleaning. I have one of the older auto's with three air holes. It works great and doesn't require cleaning as often and my XL which has 4 holes. But the holes on the XL are very small and I need to clean it often because the holes plug up to the point I can get any draw.

I haven't tried the latest batteries but we had a poll awhile back and most voted for more airflow. So if V4L has redesigned the battery to provide for more airflow, I would use the cut off condom sloution with a new battery. Put it between the carto and the battery...and adjust for airflow that way. Eventually the holes will begin to plug up. I think anyone making the holes smaller will be disappointed. The smaller the hole the faster it will plug up and will need cleaning more often.

As far as the center hole on the battery being smaller..I can see where that could be a problem if it is too small. I have seen the pics posted and I really don't know why they made the center hole that small?
