I've been vaping for almost a year now. Started with an ego and Mini Protank 2. 3 months later, bought an iTaste VV v3; I kept the same mini pro tank. Wanting more battery life, I bought an MVP v2 and a Kayfun. I was perfectly content, until the day I dropped my MVP and the 510 became loose. It still worked, but I knew I had to get a replacement before it failed on me. I considered another MVP, then decided to go with an iStick because of its size, increased power, and most obviously, the price. Honestly, the wife can't complain too much on a $25 battery when she spends 4X that on a haircut.
Well, I sat down at my computer with a nice, healthy glass of Jack Daniels and started my search. I couldn't find an iStick in stock anywhere. As you all know, there are many e-cig sites to check. Before I knew it, I (amazingly enough) was on my 4th or 5th glass of that tasty beverage and still couldn't find that damn iStick in stock anywhere.
Most of us are extremely familiar with that fact that partaking in adult beverages has a way of expanding your horizons...and... expanding your search parameters for a new mod. Before I know it, I'm searching for Mechs, Provaris, ...anything and everything. Not really serious about getting one at this point, but just looking to see what's out there. Eventually, I find myself on the VaporShark site. Well, there she is. The rDNA 40, right on the front page. Love her looks, her size, how she functions...everything about her. I remember watching PBursardo's video introducing the dna 40 and remember thinking to myself how great this was probably going to be.
A funny thing about Jack Daniels is that after a few of them, $189 (plus $25 for the wireless charger and another $10 for the Sharkskin) really doesn't seem that far from the $25 iStick. Fast forward about 2 minutes, and I am receiving an order confirmation from VaporShark. All of the sudden, a moment of clarity came over me when I realized what I had done, so I did what any responsible adult would do in my situation... I realized that I didn't have any Ni-200 wire, or a dedicated ohm reader, or some of those really nice ceramic tweezers, or an RDA. I figured, "What the heck. If I'm going to be in trouble anyway, I may as well be in trouble WITH a new 454 RDA and all of these other goodies - than in trouble WITHOUT them." Order Confirmation #'s 2 and 3 now in my inbox.
Well, my rDNA just arrived today after a long wait. It was shipped on the 15th, today is the 30th....Aaahhh, the pleasures of waiting for APO mail. I was perfectly content with my MVP and Kayfun, but just simply holding this thing in my hand, I could tell the difference in quality. As for the vape, I've only had it for about 11 hours now, but OMG!!! I couldn't be happier. I'm still using the same 1.3 ohm kanthal build in my Kayfun but running it at 20 watts now - Heaven. I put a Ni-200 build in my 454 and it is amazing. I have read all of the posts and watched all of the videos about how hard Ni-200 is to build with, but honestly, if you take your time and are very delicate with it, it isn't that bad.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, and Thank You, Mr. Daniels. For without you, I'd never have made this fantastic purchase.
