For most of my adult life I have dreamed in vain of finding an electronic substitute to feed the nicotine addiction I love without the scary cancer bogeyman. Obviously it was possible, just nicotine delivery system that would provide the rush that other nicotine quit smoking aids don't. My life is much better now for having found vaping.
Alas I fear my time in the sun will be limited as it is only a matter of time until governments world wide shut it down for fear of losing too much tax revenue. Not to mention the tobacco lobbys must be terrified as this is the first real threat to their business model. And then there's the anti cancer organizations with a vested interest in ensuring there is always something to rail against and so justify their own existence and salaries.
Already many countries are placing restrictions of vaping availability and sooner or later when enough people are using them, they will be banned outright for "health" reasons. The rational being that addiction is bad for you so you must stop being addicted. I'm addicted to many things I have no intention of stopping voluntarily. Breathing for example is something I refuse to give up!
Call me a sad old cynic if you like but how long do you really think governments will allow us to enjoy our habit? When will they start forcing us to take up analogs again? (for our own good!)
When that day comes, I will emigrate to another country and keep moving until there is no place else to go. I have no intention of smoking again but neither have I any intention of giving up my nicotine pleasure.
