How Is It Sweet?

I understand that there is no added sweetener to this line of juices, but SOMETHING is clearly making them sweet. Therefore, there IS sweetener in the flavorings. I know it's not sugar, cuz that'd gunk up the atomizers. Malto or stevia? NOT sucralose ... PLEASE not sucralose ... or is VG sweet enough on its own????

Hi Deborahsu, the flavors are naturally sweet. They are extracted in organic ethyl alcohol and so the natural sweetness of say, a strawberry, comes along with the rest of the flavor. There is no stevia, malto or sucralose in any of my e-liquids. The sweetness comes from the organic raw materials they are extracted from.

I understand that SOME of the extracts would be naturally sweet, but some really aren't--like coffee and almonds, and even chocolate. Or maybe the volatiles that come out with extraction make a sweet vapor even if they don't taste sweet as a liquid?

For the caramel, I understand that it would be possible to extract sugar cane ... but wouldn't you wind up with sugar in it? I know, you don't make the extracts, but you do seem like someone who has asked these questions in order to choose your flavoring source.

I know that it sounds contradictory that I would smoke for so many years, yet be so concerned about what I put in my body, especially something which is an improvement overall, but I've been doing my best for many years to be as healthy as I can be even while smoking, largely through nutrition and avoiding chemical additives. Besides, I'm just one of those people who never outgrew curiosity.

Deborahsu, flavor creation is quite an art and so many flavors are a combination of ingredients. A coffee flavor may not be just extracted from coffee but may contain extracts from a variety of ingredients blended together to create a flavor. Sweetness can be added from another raw ingredient to sweeten a coffee flavor, for example, so the taste won't necessarily come entirely from only coffee beans. None of the flavors contain sugar, however, sugar is a term we generally use to mean table sugar or a sweet taste derived from sugar cane but sugars are, in the chemistry sense, present in fruits--i.e. fruit sugar. Fruit is sweet but does not contain sugar. Playing with all these various tastes and blending them together is what the art of flavor is all about!

None of my flavors contain artificial flavorings, PG or sucralose. They are all USDA certified organic (this means they are third party certified organic). Propylene glycol is included as a base at customer request but is not part of my flavorings. The lack of artificial flavorings and sucralose is what sets my organic flavorings apart. The sweetness is naturally derived from certified organic raw materials, basically fruits, and concentrated to give a nice, sweet taste.

I applaud your attempt to know what is in your juices. However, weren't analogs full of chemical additives? I am not being a smarty - I am asking a real question.

I had a few requests, and wondering myself, Stevia is natural, I used to work in a garden and nursery center and have tasted and sold this wonderful little plant personaly, and doesn't have a sugar responce in diabetics from what I understand. I am sure that it can be had as an organic extract. BUT! A little does go a long way, even in its natural (leaf) state it would make a person pucker because of it's sweetness. Stevia gets a bad rap because of it being marketed as a processed sugar substitute similar to splenda, but it really is an herb.

I would actualy prefer to have my e-liquid sweetend with stevia if it were certified as an organic extract. It tastes wonderful. also I don't remember if I have seen this somewhere or not, but while you are Organic, why not Kosher, and Vegan..? just a thought.
