How long before you "upgraded"?

I went to the head of the class at the local brick & mortar and snagged 2 eVics.
They work fine, will stick with them until they break down.
Bypassed the upgrade game.

Do you use the software at all? Do you find it useful if so, or is it just gimmicky nonsense?

I got a smok Tech 510 Ego-T and I'm getting another for extra parts. So I guess I'm happy without upgrades. I guess if I was to upgrade. It would really need to be a true upgrade. To me a solar recharger would be an upgrade. Buying a bigger battery would not be one, because I'm happy with what I got.

I started with a smoov, young june vv, ego-t, and now a mechanical Legacy mini. To me there is no difference in taste between them. I purchased the Legacy and it has become my main device, my young june has become my ohm checker and backup, ego-t used rarely and the smoov not used at all.

Started with a Victory ecig - 510. Got tired of "chain-charging" after a couple of days and got an eGo 900 & eGo 650; then another 900 and an 1100. ...I'll be getting my Lavatube Friday. lmao I did luck out in that I discovered my penchant for carto/tanks pretty early on along with which flavors I prefer..... and even with the Lavatube, I'll break even about 30 days from today. From much of what I've read, I feel like I "got off easy"!

I upgraded to lavatube from my first ego batteries in 1-1.5 months, then vv gripper and after that to world of mechanical mods and rba's.
Not going back.

My first was an Ego starter kit and it only took a week for one of the batteries to die. Bought a Lavatube that day. That was two months ago and now I'm looking at the Reos. This is going to be more expensive than my gun collection if I keep it up.

I just got a VV Reo.. they're really awesome

I started in Sept. of 2011 with Safe Cig. Within 2 weeks I'd found SI and got the Volts. By mid November I heard about the "vGo" (a KR808D-1 version of the eGo) and got that. LOVED it! The darn things would last 8 to 10 hours on a charge! I was sold. The next few months I added to my vGo collection, and ventured into kGo. Then assorted eGos. The SI came out with X2s and I went X2 crazy. I tended to want to stay "loyal" to KR808s for some reason. Then early last summer a friend gifted me a 3.7 Gripper...and the beast was released. Replaceable batteries. Solid...semi-mechanical. And it hit like a freight train! Intrigued, in a couple of weeks I looked into the eGo T Mod. I don't like a really hot vape and liked the idea the eGo T Mod offered a "regulated" mode. Loved it! Bought several tubes to go with it and extra power heads. Then the lure of mechanicals really set in. I wanted "indestructible". Something that would never have a chip go out, or wires to break. So I got a Smok Telescope (before I found out there IS a wire in there) and loved being able to use different sized batteries and have different sizes. Then I got a LavaFire...a completely metal completely mechanical. Heavy as an anvil, but SOLID. Loved it, too. Got a Bolt as a back up...knowing that it, like the telescope, had a wire in it.

I'd bought the Twist and the kGo VV somewhere in the mix earlier in 2012. A friend gave me her LavaTube (that she didn't like). I wasn't impressed by the variable volt, and didn't see much need for it in my case. I knew what volts/ohms worked for me. They just didn't impress me. I use only one flavor and type of juice. BUT...then the same friend who gave me the 3.7 Gripper gave me his VV Gripper (he was afraid he'd break it...wanted a fully mechanical like my LFire). The VV Gripper I DO like. It's true I don't set the volts over around 3.3 (it seems to have the voltage meter set a little high..by about .5). Mainly because I love the "box mod" form factor, and now have three...3.7 Gripper, MV 3.7 box mod and the VV Gripper.

So now..I pretty much stick with my mechanicals and semi mechanicals...and enjoy my eGo T Mods when I want a gentler vape...and have a ball playing with the VV Gripper. I just got a little baby 18350 tube mod "The Squire" and am having fun with it. It's also semi mechanical. And I got one of the "mini tubes" for my eGo T Mod. It's just so CUTE!

Love toys! I do really want a Vmod...bottom feeder. But that'll have to be down the pike a bit when I can save for it!

Lots of great info... thanks all. Sounds like TheDarthVap3r needs a shopping intervention Thanks Baditude for the response and pics too. I see this as something I'll be doing for sometime, and after reading others' replies it sounds like my ego could go anytime (had it 2+ months now). I also go outdoors dog-walking/hiking for a couple hours or more everyday and keep my ego in my pocket, so it sounds like the standard sized Provari may not be the most practical option...

cactus, why would your ego go anytime? I've had joytech ego batteries going on 2 years now and they both still hold charge and last as long as they are supposed to. Unless you are talking about your atty in which case 2 months is a good amount of time for it to last!

I started over 2 years ago with a 510 and within 2 weeks had a an Ego set. I upgraded my batteries to the twists when they came out. I fiddle with the voltages every once in a while, but usually keep it at the same voltage.

I don't have a mod and I really don't feel I need a mod. I use what works for me.

Some people may need a mod so that they can stay away from the stinkies - you gotta use what works for you.

As long as you are not smoking - I don't care what you use.

It's really easy to get caught up in the moment when everyone is talking about how great their x,y,z (insert your battery, mod, carto, atty here) is and think that "hey, I need one of those". Man oh man, I have been there and done that!

But, if you have a set up that you are happy with and it is working for you, why would you feel that you "have" to trade up?

You don't "have" to do anything.

Perhaps I misread, but I believe a few posters said their ego batteries died in a week or 2 months, etc. It's not that I feel I "have to" trade up, it's a curiosity mainly... I have had no problems with the ego so far, but wonder if I am "missing" some other/better aspect of vaping, and so I don't want to go on a never-ending quest to find the epitome of a vaping experience. I'm sort of a set-it-and-forget-it guy and not into trying every new thing that comes out, don't care about aesthetics since I'm not trying to impress anyone with the looks of my eCig, and don't want to throw out cash on each nominal advancement in technology. I know I got a starter kit, and it "worked" for getting me to quit analogs, now I'm just interested in enjoying vaping to it's fullest extent.

The Quest for the purest vape, from the most recent device, with the most OMG I need those batteries, and that tank, and WOW look at that picture of a drip tip, I need many of those. Is not a leisurely stroll in the garden. It is like climbing MT Everest while being chased by pack of angry Sherpa's.....one can not simply stop buying more and more stuff. We must Crave the the happiness of receiving mutable packages each day...

Or you could find what you like and just ignore all the advertisement.

I started back up after threes years in November. Bought two knock off ego kits, one for me and one for a friend. A week later I bought a Zmax v2. I was happy with that for a couple of weeks. Then bought two ego twists for that same friend. Two weeks later I bought a Provari v2 and gave her my Zmax. Three weeks later I bought a Provari mini. Think I'm done for a bit until I can save up some money for a hybrid.

I quit cold turkey and started using smoke tip e cigs with prefilled cartridges. After about a year I started looking online to see how to save some money which unveiled a whole world of vaping products.

I then started using a v4l titan and filling my own cartos, then bought a tank and wow was I blown away.

When I started making some more money I bought myself a provari and a reo mini which I love equally.

Provari with kir fanis prive tank when im home sitting around watching tv...mini for work and when i'm out and about...couldn't be happier!

Yeah that's what I'm trying to avoid... not the angry Sherpas (don't think they exist) chasing me, but the Sherpas that would be necessary to lug all my stuff up Mt. Everest in search of the pinnacle.

8 months and counting. About three weeks in. Started with a 510 cigalike. Ordered 4 ego twists, mini vivi nova, and some vision v3 clearos. Seven months in ordered a gripper on advice from a friend. Have been satisfied ever since.

i started with an ego c upgrade kit, quickly switched from the included atomizers to v2,v3 clearo's, then bought 2 1000mah ego twists, work well got some vivi novas (love them use em everyday) then stepped it up and went with a zmax v2, opened another whole level!!! been honking on that for a month, just stepped it up again and bought a ihybrid, can't wait to vape my brains out on that badboy, im a mostly 100% vg vaper, have close to 30 bottles? most are almost empty, just put in a huge order today, gonna tryout some halo torque 56....
