picked up a spare hcigar vt200 lipo - just in case - its brand new - i intend to store it until its needed.
is there any thing special as for as storing the lipo i need to do? will i need to charge it a couple months down the line to 3.7v - or can i just put it away in a safe place?

Discharge it to about 50% and then keep it in a place that doesn't get warm/hot. Every couple of months check the voltages. If they're below 3.5V or so then charge it up a bit and store it again.

Every battery ages and degrades from the moment you buy it though so you probably won't be able to store it for too much longer than 18-24 months before its performance really starts to drop. It might be better to switch between your two packs every month or so as then there's no need to give them a boost charge and you can monitor their health over time.

A reply from the battery sensei himself! Many thanks! And many thanks also for all the battery tests you've done previously. You've kept me from buying all those silly rewraped batteries out there. I always look forward to reading your battery reviews.

Have a g'day sir and rock on! :headbang:
