I'm planning on switching to cartomizers from attys and I was wondering how long a cart typically lasts before the coil just starts leaving a burnt taste in my mouth or it stops working altogether. Also I chain vape so my ecig rarely leaves my hand haha. I was just wondering if the switch is worth it. I know attys can last longer than carts, but I'm not sure what to do to keep my Ego-c attys working longer.

Too many variables to give a definitive answer (brand, juice used, vaping style, etc) I have some that I have refilled over 100 times and still work, but I use clearos now just because they hold more juice. I have also had a few fail probably due to poor workmanship. One big factor in longevity is keeping them moist and not letting them dry out. In any case, they are cheap enough for you to get a five pack and see how they work for you.

I'm by no means an expert, but I've used cartos exclusively for the last 9 months or so. If I take care of it, a carto lasts me up to 5 days. If I don't suck them completely dry (always add a few drops after a short stint of vaping), then they tend to gum up (hard to draw on) rather than burn up. I stick my 'bad' ones in a baggie and fill a new one when this happens. When I've accumulated a bunch, I dump them in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes (no more), take them out & let them cool off, blow out the excess water and set them up to dry out for a day or so. Then they can be refilled and used again (almost like new). Sometimes I keep two setups going at once, so if I;m vaping heavily I don't need to drip into the carts as often. This forum and youtube tutorials have been invaluable to me. I've never used anything else but carts and I'm pretty satisfied.

I get 5 at a time from hoosier, but I've just been throwing out all of them when they all get gummed up. I tried boiling them 5 at a time for 5 minutes, but even after they dry they're still really hard to draw on. Am i doing something wrong? I didn't think there could be a "wrong" way to boil water and dump cartos into it...

I use smoktech 1.7 single coil and also use 1.5 dual coils. To be honest this is probably my last order of dual coils though. The single coils last 1 to 2 weeks for me vaping the sweet vapes. The dual coils seem to never last even a week. No cartos don't last as long as attys but the taste to me is much better.+1 for vaporbeast great customer service and no shipping. I also order sometimes from vaporgod when they have a sale.

As for keeping the attys working longer I am think you mean how to clean and maintain them. (could be wrong here) There are some great videos on youtube on how to do that. Or you could search for threads here on how to.

I think 5 min isn't long enough. Try 15 min, dump the water, boil another 15 min. I prefer using syringe (without the syringe needle) and hot water. That way I know the old juice is getting pumped out of the cartos.

Back to topic, I use 2 cartos for 2 flavors for a week. Clean it. Use them again for another 3-7 days.
