How long do coils last for you ?

I've been vaping roughly 4 months or so & been using basically the same setups , mainly kanger Evods & Evod with protank 2/mini.

I have found 2.2ohm coils seem to be optimal for my juice/tanks & on average I'll get about 6-10 days out of a coil w/ the rare occassion of a dud.

What kind of life do you fellow vapors get out of your coils ? Are there better brands 510 thread & can be used on an evod base?

I'll generally run 4-5 tanks of juice through my Evod/PT heads, then rinse with hot water, soak in vodka for a day, rinse with hot water again, let dry for a day, and put them back in rotation. I can get 3-4 rotations, or about 50 ml of juice through a coil that way. I suppose I could rebuild for even more cost savings, but at that point I feel like I've really gotten my $1.25 worth out of a device and I don't feel bad about letting it die.

On my stock Kangers, about 5 days, or 50 ml in my case. At that point, the coil still works, but the flavor is degrading a bit and the coil is filthy.

Rather than clean and re-wick, I just rebuild the whole thing. My rebuilds last about the same number of ml before needing to be rebuilt again.

These days, now i understand how my tanks work, how many volts to use and when, for example if my coil floods i'll turn up the volts until i get a dry hit, about a month sometimes even longer. That includes changing flavours without changing the coil. Cannot be bothered to change out a coil just because i change the flavour. How do i know when it's time to change ?. When i can't get enough vapour to satisfy me. That's all that happens, the ammount of vapour production is reduced to the point that i don't get the satisfaction i "need". Obviously vapour production suffers the longer i use one coil but it doesn't matter as long as the throat hit is still there. So when there isn't enough vapour, i know that the coil is clogged up because i use 100% vg, i'll drop the coil in some distilled water along with the others and it will sit there until i'm down to my last coil, of which i have loads, i'll boil them altogether in some more distilled water for about 20 minutes then just leave them to dry naturally. I know when they're completely finished because when they've been boiled and dried they still give a burnt taste when i next use them. It's because there is a buildup of gunge on the coil which cannot be cleaned off. Plus, the heated juice eventually permanently impregnates the silica and makes it charred and blackened. That's when i'll rebuild the coil.

My Protank coils were lasting me about a month or so. However, lately they have been only lasting a day or two. I became so frustrated that I went back to carto tanks (I had used carto tanks in the beginning but I switched to protank 2's because I thought they were easier to use on the go). I'm not sure why the big change in performance in the coils-I have been using the same device (a MVP2) and my usage has been pretty steady. I even use the same juices as before. They just flood constantly and make a mess. I have been blowing them out, rinsing, dry burning and all that good stuff but they still don't last.
However, I am very happy to say that I love my new IBTanked tanks and the carto's are lasting me for weeks. YAY!!!

Longer if you make coils with resistances in the 1.0 - 2.0 range, but for us sub 1.0ohm vapers, coils for me last about 1 work week - I change them out every sunday.

A bit of an OCD, but since building coils is so darn easy and the materials are so cheap, I prefer not vaping on coils that get too much gunky black stuff build up on them.
