How long do you spend in a single sitting making juice?

Once you come up with blends that you like, it doesn't take long to mix ejuice. 45 minutes or less to do a dozen 60 ml bottles for me.

It takes eons to test different flavors and percentages to get to the point of the blends you like though. And there is always the problem that you will always be looking for more flavors that you like. It is non-ending but can be a lot of fun.

I don't use a pre-mixed base of any kind. Still, if I'm making just a 120mL bottle of my 2-flavor ADV @ 7mg nic and 60/40 ratio...it takes about 15 minutes at most - from deciding I'll make some...to mixed and blended, syringes cleaned, and everything put back in its place.

When I make (5) 50mL bottles of eliquid (all different recipes, with 3-5 flavorings each, and no pre-mixed base), for myself and my neighbor, I make them assembly line fashion, and by volume. It takes about 45 minutes-an hour from start to finish.

The above are all tried and true recipes though, that I've long ago tweaked to our/my liking, and I routinely make them. So I'm naturally more comfortable making them and can go faster. When I'm trying out much smaller batches of new recipes, tweaking them as I go, and taking notes on what I'm doing...it'll definitely, naturally, take me longer. The one time doing that though, will save me time in the longrun when making larger batches of them.

There IS no prize for faster DIYing though, nor just 1 way that everyone has to use...to be successful at it! So, whatever methods work for you, and however long you take to make your eliquids, are both fine. As long as it results in DIY that you enjoy (even with some possible duds along the way)...it's "all good"!

Everything. Setting up, mixing, cleaning everything and putting gear away.

If you include all that, then about 5 days.

4 hours to let the nic come up to room temperature.

1 Hour to mix up a bunch of 10ml testers.

5 minutes clean up.

several days before I put the washed funnel away.

I very rarely mix more than 30 mills of any one thing, as I’m constantly tinkering with recipes. But I’d say it generally takes me less than an hour to mix 5-10 30 mill bottles, and a few 5-15 mill samplers. I’ve mixed a fair bit at this point though, and have it down to a pretty precise routine. I was much slower when I started mixing.

It helps to have your flavors organized enough that you can just grab any commonly used one without much thought, and the more practice you get in mixing the more efficient you’ll be at it. For instance, I used to carefully watch the scale from the beginning of adding things, but now I can get within about 90% of the desired weight with most things by just squeezing, and only start watching the scale to get that last 10% dialed in.

I also don’t use mixers, etc. I shake and wait. I think this leads to better juice in the long run, and it makes mixing a lot easier. YMMV may vary of course, but I find that as long as I mix enough per session I don’t need to accelerate the steeping. I always have too much juice on hand, actually, because I am fairly efficient at mixing.

I make a litre of Churro and 500ml of Strawberry Custard for me and a litre or grape for my wife every few months. Whole process takes me about 15 min. I don’t mix by exact volume or weight as there is no real difference between 25 and 27ml of a flavour (as an example) when you are making a litre. I just eyeball using small measuring cups and one 30ml syringe.

I gave up on experimenting with making 10 different recipies at a time in small batches a couple years ago. We both know what we like and stick to a few flavours.

I still try new recipes but I just do them in 100ml bottles. If I don't like it I try adding a little of this or that to it to see if I can save it, or mix it with some other recipe, or pour it into my half liter bottles of random partial recipes, or just dump it down the drain. I can afford to dump the occasional mix down the drain if I can't save it when it only costs me about $2 per 100ml to mix.

I agree with JC, the time is immaterial. In fact, take longer on purpose if you have the time. Like, truly enjoy the process. Put some music on, do a little dance. I tend to dance while I'm shaking the finished product.
Does your buddy dance with you or watch with a bored face? My Em usually naps, the cats seem to enjoy the show tho.

I do two 30ml bottles at a time. Three to eight flavors each.
From when I plug the scale in until I am back upstairs is about 40 minutes.
Add 5-10 minutes on the computer record keeping.
Luckily, I enjoy this and have a permanent mixing station in the basement.

Can't say I dance much mixing. I mix on days that I don't have much else going on. Actual hands on portions of the process maybe take fifteen minutes. The other activities are timed in the background, so I'm putzin with something else while that is going on. Never really even looked at the process as a dedicated activity. Just something I've got going on while I'm doing other things.

I usually do 3-4 recipies at a shot. The base, with the nic included is made beforehand. The Nic is a percent or two heavy because I know that PG with flavoring will be added.

Once I have the bottles of different flavors it goes fairly quickly. I usually have a routine going.

All-in-all, an hour.

I enjoy the analysis of recorded results as I go along.

Unflavored vaper here too, so it takes me just a few minutes. I usually mix up 220ml at a time, for no other reason than that my mixing bottle is 250ml and leaving out 30ml leaves me some good shaking room in the bottle. I buy gallon jugs of pg and vg and mix them together 50/50 in a 1 liter jug for as needed for easier handling, and then I have several liters of nic juice in both pg and vg bases, so I just measure out the amount of nic juice, distilled water, and the amount of pg/vg blend I need, add them to by mixing bottle, shake, and I'm done. :thumb:

Here's a typical recipe for me:

I have a mix session about once every couple of months when I start to run out of my favorites. I'll generally mix up 100ml or more of unflavored and half a dozen 50ml flavors. My scales and supplies are stored in a basket in the laundry room, so I have to set up everything with the scales on a drop cloth in the kitchen, wash and dry the bottles I'm refilling, find the flavors I plan to mix, look at each recipe while mixing, and put it all away. A couple of hours is usually average for it all. I take my time and enjoy it.

3-30 minutes, average 10, with a semi-permanent setup. 15 minutes to put everything away or set up and occasional other procedures. Almost everything is mixed only 25 ml at a time though. I have one I make 50 ml at a time. My favorites I've made so many times now, but I use (or at least make) a lot of flavors and some take a long time to use. My working bottles for PG and VG are only 120 ml plus a 30 ml for nic prediluted to 50 mg. I do have a base premixing bottle for those annoying small neck plastic bottles and anything 10 ml.

I used to mix a bunch of different flavors at a sitting. Clearing a space on the desk. Tweaking recipes and trying new ones. Updating records. Rows of syringes and flavor bottles. It took a long time. Just cleaning bottles and syringes would take an hour or two.

Don't do that any more. Bigger bottles and just a handful of regular flavors and a new one once in a while. About half the time I use single flavor mixes. And I reuse syringes if the flavors are similar.

Most of the time now I just make one bottle of something when I notice it's getting low. Doesn't take long at all since everything is on a shelf above my computer desk, and I keep a good supply of premixed nic base ready to go.

This where I want to be in about 3 months.

Like TVC70 said, I mix ~220ml unflavored in a 250 bottle, leaving room for shaking. Takes me maybe 30-45 minutes from start to finish, getting all the supplies out, cleanup afterward, etc. And I hate every minute of it, which is why I don't delve into flavors very often. As much as I despise the process, I'm grateful for the alternative to smoking.

    Really?

I find it Kinda Relaxing. And it gives me a Viable Reason to wear a White Lab Coat around the House.

Maybe you are Listening to the Wrong type of Jazz while you are Mixing?
