Well surprise surprise the cleaning kit does nothing for cleaning the gunk from the center hole that clogs cartomizers. It does flush most of the old juice out successfully, so if your cartomzer isn't clogged but you just want to wash it out to switch liquids, it will work, but so will cheaper methods such as boiling. Overall, the guitar string method is the only method i've tried that successfully clears the gunk out of the center hole of the cart, although doing this repeatedly can render the cart non functional all together.

I really don't think VG liquid makes the difference. I've kept my cart going easily for five days vaping AVE Strawberry Cooler, and that's 100% VG. Keeping the cart wet keeps the cart performing for longer but from my testing has nothing to do with clogging. The clogging seems to have to do with the ingredients used in the liquid, as it seems that rich vanilla/cake flavored liquids seem to clog the center hole of the cart with black gunk.

Now I KNOW I agree! if you remember, I told you that I ONLY use Back woods brew tobbacco's, hadnt ever lost a carto, though I did clean them once. I just recently went out on a limb and tried/liked esspresso. Although I havent seen 'gunk' yet, I DO notice my carto harder to "pull' after only about 1.5 days and I will have to clean! an accidental experiment, but now I KNOW its juice related!!

I don't understand why anyone even uses filler carts anymore. After trying a CE2 for one day I threw all my old filler carts away and never looked back.

Convenience and portability. They're easier to fill, and less likely to come apart and/or leak all over the place. I take a bunch of generic cartos to work with me and use my clear CE2s mainly at home.

I will try the CE2s when one is released that doesn't require a syringe to fill it.

Since reading this thread I've been extra vigilant in keeping my cartomizers topped off and have been able to extend my vape time on them. Now just by frequently topping off, I'm getting up to 5 days out of a single carto. I'm retiring them not because of clogging, but because they start to taste yucky.
Hi Gristle,

So they taste yucky.. How about cleaning them really good?? I mean if you cleaned them super clean, them maybe they would regain the taste back to normal.. Maybe??

Nah, I'm done with cleaning them. At a cost of $.28 a day it's not really worth the effort and I just pitch them and fill a brand new fresh cartomizer.

None of them require a syringe, I hardly ever use a syringe. Pull the filler seal, drip into the tank like any other carto, replace seal, done.
