How long does 3-4 hours battery actually mean?

If I have a titan 510- and it says it will keep a charge for 3-4 hours, is that like plug it in at noon and by 3 its about dead? or if I only vape like 3 puffs at a time every 15 minutes or 30 minutes, LIke when I used to smoke (OHHHHH I LOVE TO SAY THAT!!) - will it last longer?

Should I unscrew it between each 'session' ? or can I just toss it down on the table and pick it up when the mood strikes-? :)

Thanks y'all!!

I'm not sure how they come up with the figures for how long a battery lasts between charges, since it depends entirely on how much you vape.

Your battery won't lose its charge when you aren't actually vaping off of it (or at least, not enough to matter). You don't have to unscrew anything to save battery life. The less you vape, the longer the battery will last. I use an eGo and usually go through 1 1/2 batteries a day. Yesterday, however, I was sick and only vaped some in the morning and a little in the evening. That same battery got me halfway through today before it needed to be recharged.

I was under the impression it meant total drag time. Like if breath limitations were no issue, you would be able to take a 3-4 hour drag before the battery dies. Although with ten second drags, for example, I'm not sure you would be able to take 1,080 draws to total three hours--seems like too much. Excuse me if the math is off. Also, I'm not sure if the strength of the inhale would affect how much power is used.

It would be interesting to know if there's an actual calculation going on or just an approximate value award.

Just for fun, I ran some numbers...

A standard 510 atty is 3.4 ohms.
Let's call a standard 510 battery 3.3v
So the current draw will be (A=V/R) 0.97 amps.

A standard 510 battery is 180mAh, so if you ran your atty constantly, the battery would be completely drained in 180/970, or 0.185 hours or bit more than 11 minutes. (Please check my math, I'm sick and a bit fuzzy).

So the claim of even a single hour isn't how long the battery can run the atty continuously, by a longshot! I'm guessing that they made up some kind of "usual use" metric. Which raises the question: are all the manufacturers using the same metric? If they are, then the claims are useful when comparing one battery against another. If they aren't, then these "use time" numbers are meaningless.

Does anyone know?

wow! See all that stuff confuses me- y'all wana teach my kids that chapter in ..... what ever subject it is?? LOL

Okay- I DO know this- and I have been very careful to NOT just 'hit' it constantly- I am trying to be more of a 'need a drag' then 'need a 5 minute Cig'

I got this around 1:30 yesterday- I put it together and started on it- battery fully charged- and as of 6am I am still 'puffing' on it- granted I slept for about 6 hours- and have only taken maybe 5 hits (okay- I am starting to feel like I am living in a crackhouse.... LOL) off it this morning in the hour I have been up- and last night when we had company I did 'hit' it more than usual- BUT, they were all smoking analogs- and honestly, they stunk- and I needed to taste my strawberry! LOL

Of course, everyone smokes differently- There are going to be some who suck on it like a candy cane- and others who just say 'hmmmm- I need a small bite of nic" I am TRYING to fall into that catagory- :)

I dont know if this is a fluke, or this is a good idea of how the battery will work for me- maybe I will try to write down how many hits I get off it- get kinda an average-

okay- I WAS going to 'count' the puffs- but at around 45 I lost count- LOL I am currently still smoking the 2nd battery- I started it about 6am or so yesterday- and here it is 7 am today- (yes, murphy's law- the second I said "this one is still working" it quit- LOL ) SO I am knocking on wood, crossing my fingers and praying I dont jinx this battery- LOL

Anyway, the 45 'draws' was by about 4pm yesterday- I have been up since 4:30 this morning and went to bed around 11:30 last night- granted, I have not sat and had a 'session' I will just walk by and get a puff- sometimes 2 or 3-

I am STARTING to panic, as my charger isnt here yet- BUT, thats okay- I am starting to feel much better about it- If I can get this to last for a little while longer I can make it until the mail truck runs tomorrow, and I have faith it will have my new charger on it :) LOL

If I start freaking out too much, I will take some nyquill or something to make me go to sleep- LOL (just kidding- although my whole household is on benadryl, including me, for alergies right now- LOL)

But, I DO plan to 'measure' my puffs- I am going to try and see how much I get out of each battery- Just for general purposes- I have a feeling that because I panic easy about running out of 'smokes' that I will have to make sure I always have a few batteries charged- SOOO
my next question is:

How long will a battery thats been charged last? SHould I unplug it from the charger as soon as its charged and let it sit until I need it? do they 'hold' their charge for a day or a week?

Thanks y'all!! :) I am just SOOOO not good at this Ohm stuff- The best I can do is fiqure out with an Ohm meter if there is a continued circut with wires in my truck- I much prefer the little lighted pen type thing you lay against wires to see if elec is running through them- LOL and I really am not stupid- I can run electrical lines from start to finish- including hooking them to a new breaker and all the way down to the socket or light or whatever- :)

The meter is known as a multi meter digital is better than the old analogs. You seem to be a lite vaper. I take 45-60 pulls an hour which is about avg for a moderate to heavy vaper. I used to smoke a pack of 25/day. So yes your batteries will last you longer. No need to leave your batteries on the charger after they are charged. AAMOF you should take them off as soon as they are charged. They will not depleate themselves significantly if at all in a normal routine. Leaving a battery out of use for prolonged periods is not recommended and should be topped off periodically (every couple of months)
