Hey guys, I'm sure some of you will remember that I recently discussed the blank cartos in post the other day. I have a smokeless image kr808 for when I'm out in about on the run and I was hoping that refilling my own cartos would save me $ in the long run as well as provide me with better flavor in the process. I always see companies boasting that each carto is supposed to represent one pack of cigarettes but I'm definitely not getting that much vape time. I realize the length of a carto is somewhat dependent upon how long you drags are as well as other factors but I'm lucky if I get half of a pack on one carto. Hsve you guys had similar experiences? I'm using Smokeless's Blank Cartos and was wondering if maybe their Cartos don't represent the best quality of what's available? What has your experience been with length of time regarding these blank cartos? I'm not asking about how many times you can use it before you have to toss it but how long in one sitting you can use it without having to refill. Thanks in advance! :)

This depends on getting it absolutely full of juice. I only get 150 "puffs" when I fill a carto (I've counted). I don't top it off so it won't leak.

On prefilled cartos the last time I counted I got 235 "puffs".

I normally took 10 drags on an analog before I tossed it (most likely into some old ladies yard) 20 cigs in a pack X 10 puffs each = 200 puffs.

So doing the math i get a little more than a pack out of a prefilled and less than a pack out of one I filled myself.

Not even half a pack for me. 1 ml capacity cartomizer is equivalent to maybe a few cigarettes, if you figure that one cigarette will give you 10-12 drags, depending on your smoking style.

Besides, cartomizers need to be topped off frequently, even more often than necessary, IMO, to prevent filler from burning.

My advice is to have at least two or three cartomizers in use at any given time and to refill them often.

With a little practice, you'll know when your carto needs to be refilled--as soon as the flavor and/or vapor begin to diminish. Also, if you're using cartomizers on high voltage devices, your ejuice will be vaporized faster due to higher heat of the coil.

Good luck and welcome to ECF. :)

Really? Are you using 1 ml cartomizers? I'm sorry, but somehow you math is off, somewhere...

Typical learning curve. I remember those tv ads claiming that each carton was worth so moch and blah, blah, blah. Most vendors have taken claims out. It really does vary. You need to top them off if you are going to use them all day. Most vapers vape 2mls a day with heavy vapors using 3+. The folks that use alot of juice use hardware that allows for more juice and low resistance cartomizers that burn more.

The cartomizers you use hold just slightly less than 1ml, which I would equate to about half a pack

It's funny...when I first started vaping I would vape EXACTLY as much as I smoked. I would go out to my porch sit and vape for 5 minutes then go inside. Cartos lasted me a little morethan a day when I started. THEEEEEN I started liking vaping more than smoking and I found myself going through 2 cartos a day in no time.

So my experience at the beginning (without counting) was that cartos lasted about a day and I smoked a pack a day of analogs.

Then I realized about 2 months in I was going through 2 cartos a day. I thought they were shorting me on juice in the prefilled (I didn't start filling until month 3ish) so I started counting. I actually took my phone out, pulled up its calculator and added 1 every time I took a drag it equaled 235 when I started tasting burnt poly fill.

Did the same thing when I started filling a few times and it was always around 150.

Edit: And yes 1 ml cartos

If you're lucky...

When I use atties, I get ~5-6 puffs per 1 drop of ejuice, depending on the resistance of the atty and the voltage of my battery.

1 ml of ejuice equals ~20 drops; roughly, depending on the size of your dropper.

20 drops of juice x 6 = 120 puffs, more or less.

And you can't empty your carto without burning the filler.

Happy vaping!

I smoked 2 packs a day: now vape 3-5ml/day, usually closer to 3.

With 1.7 ohm resurrectors, I got about a week or 18ml per carto.

With 2 ohm Boge's I have been getting about 1.5 weeks or ~25ml through them.

Trying to experiment with cleaning now: boiled a few of the boge's & will see how much life I can get after the "rebuild".

I will be curious on your results as far as cleaning the Boge, I just ordered a 5 pack of them today

The average person vapes anywhere from 2/3- 5 ml a day. More when you first start.

A cartomizer holds almost 1 ml of juice. They're a little bit like paint rollers if you've ever done any painting. The roller holds a lot of paint but your not using anywhere near all of the paint on the roller. Same with cartos. So you possibly vape .5 to .75 mls. on each carto. If your low average, that's about 4 cartos a day.

You can't translate how much you smoked into how much you vape.

This is from the ECF tutorial

"The average user might consume about 2ml to 3ml of liquid per day, or 4 to 6 pre-filled cartomizers. This is about the equivalent of 20 to 30 cigarettes, or 1 to 1.5 PAD (packs a day).
...However, it is difficult - perhaps impossible - to provide a nicotine strength or liquid volume equivalency between cigarettes and electronic cigarettes, because the nicotine is absorbed less efficiently from e-cigarette vapor than from cigarette smoke, and because there appears to be a variance between the tolerance to nicotine in cigarette smoke and that in vapor (as there is no correlation between the amount people smoked and the e-liquid strength they end up using). "

As a previous very heavy smoker (+/-80 per day) I have recently been using a TW 501 Mega dual coil carto. I get about 6hrs out of a good fill of it, puffing pretty regularly. Carto itself lasts about 5 days with a lot of fiddling on the last day. But it works for me. Tired of the L.R. Tanks flooding the whole time. Hope this helps BJ

Cartomizers aren't that expensive. About $1.30 a piece. If you get 5 days out of a carto, that's about .26 cents a day. Nothing is better than vaping with a nice, fresh carto. As soon as flavor seems lacking, I throw them away.

Hey, Swedishfish! :)

Yup! They are disposable. No maintenace, no soaking, no dry burning. Fill, vape, chuck. The best ones are only good for ~6-10 ml of ejuice, depending on what kind of juice is being used and at what Wattage. Clean, clear juices and moderate heat (4.5-7.5 Watts) will extend the life of a cartomizer....

As always, YMMV.

Happy vaping! :)

Hey Big, you said you were tired of the L.R. Tanks flooding all the time. Are you talking about the tankomizers that you attach to a 510/Ego or are you referring to something else? The reason that I ask is because I've been thinking about switching from the traditional drip to a tank on my Ego. I had heard that there were issues with the tank kits and was wondering what kind of experience you had with it.
