    Hiya, AngeNZ!

My first kit, bought in December 2009, so almost 10.5 years ago... ;)

    Don't laugh.
Wasn't that the subscription based brand everyone here was trying to move from?

I started with these but never auto-shipped, what a trap. But also kept smoking. I knew this vaping could work. I finally quit completely after around two years or more of dual use. What did it for me was a REO (a modern miracle) and the policy definition of tobacco use on my Humana medical plan. I got off cigarettes completely, started saving money when I quit buying new stuff and I got the non-smoking discount. What deal!

I tried a bunch of stuff, Provari as well as others that I have forgotten - I didn't like tanks and didn't like dripping. Today and for sometime, I use DNA squonkers and have one very expensive mechanical.

About 7 1/2 years back, 650 mAh ego and "Stardust" type toppers, along with some auto 510 sticks and cartos. About 6 months in the VV models (Twist, Spinner) started coming out, jumped to those right away.

Didn't move to "real" mods and RTAs until my first vapeaversary, at which time I figured, yep, this works for me!

I started vaping in 2011 using 510's with cartomizers.
Tried a ton of different gear over the years, but remained a dual user (cigarettes and vaping).
I'm almost at 2 years (June) cigarette free, thanks to Juul :)
I haven't touched a cigarette since switching and I'm well past the point where I'm even tempted to.
A miracle for me after a pack a day for 45 years.

No, not this one. GreenSmoke starter kit came with a 30-day money back guarantee, which was a good thing. :D While waiting for my package I found ECF, learned a lot, ordered some batteries and cartos from V4L, and promptly returned my GreenSmoke. But it got me started on my vaping journey, and I will forever be grateful for that.

don't remember the brand, but i had about 10 of those all charging except one.

    Sounds about right. :D
blast from the past. I had that type too but it didn’t work for me.

You'd be amazed how many of us managed to quit with those pitiful cigalikes. That's all we had--cartos or 3-piece. We were so happy to find an alternative and we worked very hard to make it work.

But what really worked for me was finding this forum--I would never have been able to do it by myself. The information, the tips, the mods, the friendships and the camaraderie made it all possible for me. This has been the best support group on the planet. Thanks, ECF, thanks, my ECF friends, and thanks, @Oliver , for starting this forum!

6 years, 11 months, and 8 days ago on a nautilus, mvp 2, and candy green apple juice. I've never looked back.. except when that mvp became a paperweight, and I smoked for a few days until I could drive 3 hours to pick up a provari.. THEN I never looked back and never bought any more smokes.

Probably what I needed back then was this forum which I just found out about like a month ago . After those a year or two after I tried the ego, joytech batteries with some cartomizers I think, still I couldn't do it. I couldn't stop coughing with nicotine in it, if I used 0mg I wouldn't cough but the craving was still there...even now I have the same issue but I can minimised with RDL and low nicotine but I still crave the hit :(.

I agree. Trust me, with all the time spent recharging those 180 mah batteries, refilling cartos and furiously posting here day and night for advice and encouragement, most of us had no time to smoke.

I hope I will be on that boat soon, I do read here a lot, I don't post much. I should to ask for help in how to minimise the coughing lol.

Why don't you start a new thread and describe your difficulties exactly (I don't want to derail this thread). I'm sure a lot of folks will be happy to help you find a solution. Coughing is not unusual and it depends on your style of vaping, your device, your eliquid, your inhaling technique, nicotine content, PG/VG ratio, etc.

Neither do I want to be the cause of a derailed thread ;). I sure will, just waiting for a good time so most of ECF members are around due to time difference. Thank you for your input, really appreciate it and stay safe

I agree 100%. Yeah vaping got me smoke free - but ECF has KEPT me smoke free. The knowledge, social aspects, help and even the enabling ;) has all played a huge role for me

My first stent convinced me to stop smoking. All that was available at that time were eGo batteries with ce4 type clearomisers (i remember buying 200 odd spare screw-in heads from China - i still have them somewhere)...
The first set-up where vaping become a pleasure rather than a chore was a ProVari with a Kayfun clone which i still use on occasion. Nowadays i use a PS3 with Doggy clone which is basically the same thing..
