That really is a shocking figure especially when multiplied by years smoking!

Are you trying to make me feel better? LOLLL just jokin'...pretty scary at my age laying in bed at night with a slight wheeze wondering when the Doc is gonna give ya the bad news. And of course this isn't something I could share with my best friend, my wife.

I'm in the same exact boat as Earl X. I didn't really smoke all that much, but the thought of quitting just wasn't in the cards. But then after my wife and I decided we're going to vape, we quit smoking the next day. The transition was about as painless as I could've ever hoped. But since we started, we easily dropped over $400 in the last 2 weeks on ejuice alone, which considering we probably spent MAYBE $75 a month on smokes, it'll be a LONG time before we're in the green. Add the fact that I honestly don't see our expenditures going down until we find that magical elixer that we can consider our all-day vape (which is a TOTAL lie - we're just having too much fun trying stuff). We're also ready to upgrade to a mod from our eGo Twist set up, so maybe once the newness wears off we'll slowly creep to being net-positive in our expeditures, but it'll probably take a long while.

There are (at least) two apps for the iPhone that will calculate amount of cigs not smoked, money not spent on cigs, money spent on,
vaping, and the amount plus or minus you currently are. They also keep track of how long you have been vaping live and down to the second. After you input the original data of amount smoked and quit date, you will need to update the amount spent, one of the apps even lets you input where you bought it and what you bought with plenty of room for writing notes about the purchase.

my ego vision was 27.99usd my juice is 7.99 for 30ml that lasts me about a month im sittin way cheaper than smokes so i recover my cost in about a week and a half for an entire month of smoking.. the first month with the ego in that.
I have a joytech 302 that lasted me almost 3 years so lets hope the ego makes it that far as that ol vaper and that would be fresh! LIKE MY CLOTHES NOW THAT THEY DONT REEK OF SMOKE EVERYDAY!!!!

I'm with Bad. I broke even a long time ago but I really wouldn't have noticed unless I had my chart...doing it for my health and the $$ don't really matter. What really does matter "to me" is the number of analogs not smoked....that just blows me away and am totally dumbfounded each and every time I look at it...kind of a remember when moment. As of today 13 THOUSAND, 285 analogs avoided.

I never wanted to see how many but 400,000 since I've started smoking! It's an amazing body that we're blessed with in that I've gotten to feel soooo good so quickly after stopping considering that many smoked.

There is an android app for the calculation.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.blizzy.esmokercalc

My break even keeps moving into the future, but I'm having too much fun trying stuff and breathing easier to care.

This is nice but it doesn't give you the (cost of vaping/day)*days part of the equation so it says I'm breaking even before I really will, assuming I need to continue purchasing things. You did make me realize how many e-smoke apps there are though, time to load the phone up!

I broke even almost from day 1. I figured out how much I spend per month on my nicotine needs, and spent it all at once each month for vaping instead.

Being that I was running around $200 monthly for cigs, it wasn't -that- hard to get by on that sort of budget. However, I've spent several months now at the same budget, and am looking forward to a future where the budget gets a lot more modest. Now that I've settled on a small fistful of flavors I can happily vape away on, I won't need to waste so much on shipping, by ordering between 5-10 ml each flavor, by three or four vendors each time...

There's also an app for the I phone called VapeMate (free) look in the iphone store
Two weeks tomorrow for both the wife and myself, we were spending 60 every 3 days plus every time we got smokes we would get a couple scratch offs and or powerball, so with card in hand started ordering, most of the stuff "jaaa" well you gotta learn, I guess I had in the back of my mind I didn't want to run out and start smoking again, If we can stay under 500 a mounth we will be ahead

DIY juice is a great way to reduce costs significantly. Buying bulk on cartos is great. Staying away from the newest/greatest helps, but I understand it can be hard.

    I'm easily under $100 yr.

    I echo this exactly.

DIY is a great money-saver. 100mL of 24mg cotton candy for less than $5.00!

$44-ish bucks can nab you 50 cartos (can easily last 6 mos, more if using tanks and moderate voltages)

I've stuck to non-twist ego-t2 upgrade batteries (which is really hard nowadays with the vari-power mods), a set of 3-4 ($60 total) could easily get you thru a year, maybe longer.

Replaceable head vivi-novas/CE4s are inexpensive in the long run with only coils to replace.

But the toys... oh the toys!!!!
