How long will I feel like this???

Hi,
It will be 2 weeks this Friday that I haven't had a regular cig. I was a 1 pack a day smoker and I have 24mg e-liquid. That's probably pretty high, but it takes the edge off the cravings and I really think I'm doing ok. When I can get my 510 workin great I don't want a cig at all. lol There's definitiely a learning curve with these e-cigs. I think I'm "over-juicing" or something.

You're having a tough time right now because you haven't established a routine that works for you. I smelled one of my sister's regular cigs the other day and it literally made me nauseated. I don't think I would enjoy smoking a regular cigarette now no matter how bad my craving is.

At any rate, you'll get there! Hang in and good luck.

First off, let me say hi to a fellow SPACE COASTER :)

If this gift e-cig your talking about was bought at the mall I prolly bought the same one and its nothing like the real ones you can get online... I bought a 901 kit from save a smoker and it works/tastes much better. I did not smoke as much as you, maybe half to a pack a day so I dont think my body is craving that much nicotine but I do feel the need to pick up an analog now and then, especially after meals and out at the bar/clubs.

Bottom line is dont be afraid to still use the analogs till you find your vaping method.

I appreciate all of your advice, support, encouragement. I have sold my smoke 51 to a friend whos a social smoker, and have an appointment this weekend with a local Vaporshop to "try before you buy" most likely a DSE-901. For the time being Ive been smoking analogs (which are disgusting as he*l) I cant wait to get my new e-cig

If it weren't for your financial pinch I'd say get a 510 with a manual switch outright. If I were you with what I know now....oh wait that sounded down right elderly... anyway the 510 manual switch series is a "better safe than sorry" e-cig. You get a good hit but can make the puff whatever you want it to be (light or dense) since you control the atomizer.

Welcome to ECF!

Sorry for the late chime in on this one. Many of my co-workers that purchased Blu E-Cigs had the very same experience, especially on the 4mg & 8mg cart levels. For resolve, I definitely recommend saving a used & spent cart, then buying e-liquid (definitely 24mg atleast based on your prior analog usage), then use "dripping", which you'll drip 1-2 drops of e-liquid on the atomizer, then vape the cravings away. All my co-workers with Blus that went to e-liquid now are completely analog free.

Plus I drip using my RN4081, the flavor is phenomenal, and I am now over 2 months analog free.

As everyone else is saying, you need to up the nic strength to match your old nicotine level. I started vaping out of curiousity, and started out on 24mg cartridges. Two days later I had no desire for normal smokes and havent looked back since (2 months). My first juice purchase was medium strength, 18 I think, and I found myself wanting to vape constantly and was very moody and irritable. Went back to the high strength carts and all was well. im 38 and smoked a pack a day since 16. Think its better to high nic to get you over the hurdle, then kick back the strength as you see fit. In my personal experience, after 5 weeks medium strength did the trick and my next purchase will be low nic. Good luck, hope you make it through this. BTW, I started out with a Luci e-cig, but quickly moved to a 510 with manual switch, to satisfy my desire for the throat hit I was getting with analogs.

I was just talking with a Smoke 51 retailer today. I'm a 510 smoker and have no intention of switching. He did tell me they have a great return policy and a lifetime warrenty. Why don't you try to return it? If they wont refund your money (to buy a 510), keep breaking it an returning it. He will eventually get tired of seeing you there with your broken gadget and pay you to go away. *wink, wink*

I need a quick fix, but im terrified if I smoke again...I will never quit.

Don't Panic!

Over the years that has been the biggest issue I've had with quitting analogs. Do Not panic. If you need to have one then have it and DO NOT beat yourself over it. As someone else here says quite often - Any analog not smoked is a triumph in itself. Just relax a bit. You didn't start smoking a pack a day over night and you won't stop that way either. Relax!

Ditto above. I can't speak to your finances but a good 510 starter kit can be had for $50 ish from several vendors here. You'll be thankful you did. (ahem.....$50 ish and add two atomizers and two batteries when you can and cough...cough... only MANUAL batteries.) You'll be surprised how easy that setup makes it. It's worked for me.

Good luck. :)
