I have the disposable 510 vapor.

I like it so far, but I am curious, how many puffs on this thing is generally equal to puffs of a cigarette? The box says each cartridge is equal to 2 packs of cigarettes, but is that 40 puffs worth?

I enjoy sitting outside for a little while and puffing, and so far 3 or 4 puffs from the e-cig feels like I might have the nicotine sensation of a single cigarette, but I would like to limit myself to an equal amount and not go over board.

(I typically, just smoke an analog until I'm at the ...., and then call it quits. if I haven't felt abuzz by then, then it is still time for me to go back inside).

If 3 or 4 puffs gets you to that point, it might be the strength of your nicotine liquid that you're feeling, you might need a lower strength cartridge from your supplier if you like puffing longer, each person's tolerance is different. ecig companies often seem to overstate how many cigs their cartridges equal, I often take the figure they give and divide it by half and that seems more accurate! I think generally an analog cig equals around10-15 puffs, but that depends on the type of cigs you smoked and how deeply you inhaled, as well. For comparison the 16 mg carts are supposedly equivalent to nonfiltered cigs, the 12s to full flavors, 6-8 for lights, etc.

right. What i mean is, how many puffs from an e-cig is equal to a puff from an analog cig?

As a general rule, you take a puff from any cigarette, whether it is a light, or a red, or a wide, or a clove, and that is a puff. You might take 10 or 12 puffs on a cigarette until it is at the .....

I'm curious how many puffs on an e-cigarette is equal to full cigarette by comparison?

I know the carts are rated at 4, 10, 16, 18 mg.

My carts are rated at 18 mg, supposedly 40 cigarettes. But how many puffs do I get out of a cart?

Does that make more sense?

There's really no 'right' answer.
I dont personally believe for a moment that 1 cart = 10 cigs as some manufacturers/salespeople claim.
I used to smoke Ultralights - my preferred nic vape is 12mg, any higher and I get headaches/dizzy. I can vape higher but like once a day unless I want to feel weird lol
1 cart (pre-filled or filled by me) maybe lasts me 15-25 puffs? id say that was roughly equal to one cig for ME on 12mg.
I dont use carts anymore with filler tho - i direct drip, and pacify vape lol. Darn thing is glued to my face at night on the PC. If xx puffs = xx cigs then I'm currently smoking roughly 200 a day...
See what I mean?
What we don't take into account when trying to do these equations is that you didnt jsut smoke nicotine. You smoked nicotine + 4000 other chemicals, and its these chemicals that gave you that 'full' feeling. You know what I'm getting at right? When you sort of said to yourself 'Ive had enough of that cig now'.
To be hoenst I wouldn't even TRY to compare the two - they aren't remotely the same - this is almost a pure nic delivery system, (which may not deliver as much nic as we imagine anyway due to absorbtion rate between mucous membranes and lungs being different) without (most of) the crap.
Do what feels right to you FOR you.
Don't get a headache, nausea or upset tummy and you should do fine. Don't get caught up on the numbers :)

yeah i think you have to go with how much e-liquid you actually use to work out how much nicotine youve vaped.

i think 1 drop of 24mg e-liquid is equal to .4mg of nicotine. like on the side of analoque cigs u get 1.0mg nicotine per cig. so if u drip 2 and a bit drops and vape the lot then youve got enough nicotine for 1 analogue cig.

I heard that's the answer to everything.

Not just the answer to everything but the answer to: Life, the Universe and Everything. Good to see another Douglass Adams fan! :p

Back on topic:
I too got caught up in the numbers thing, but really it's just about finding what works with this new way of getting nicotine. If you really gotta know, I found that MY dropper bottle gave 40 drops of MY juice per ml. When dripped on MY atomizer about 3 drops felt like a cig for ME. See how personal this is? Those numbers are just for me and my juice and my hardware. YMMV. The whole point of vaping (for me) is that I am smoke free and not having a nic fit 24/7. I am gradually stepping down my nic content so as to break the physical addiction now, and worry about the "habit" later. But, again, that's for me. ;)

Today is my first full day vaping. Until today, I had been supplementing with analogs. Right now, my main juice is 24mg Smooth 8. I filled it about 4.5 hours ago and I'm still going strong on it. So, I would say that it will last about as long a half a pack will last. However, if I was using my wife's 18mg or the sample 11mg juices I'v gotten...that thing would've been empty two hours ago.

From what I have seen so far it depends on many, many things. You just kind of have to work it out for yourself. It's not a stable ratio from person to person. It's probably not even a stable ratio for one person, day to day, hour to hour, flavor to flavor, etc.

So in other words, I shoudl be asking, how many puffs should I be getting off of a 510 cartridge?
Again, its different for different people.
How long do you puff for? (Length of drag) How many drops are you using (E juice)?

I'm not trying to be flippant or unhelpful btw. I'm trying to show you that its so very personal that YOUR results and MY results aren't going to mesh. We might get an average but that really doesn't mean a lot other than 'its a median number'. I may puff a lot lot less of higher nic, but I may also have decided that higher nic isn't the way I want to go. YOU may find you puff lots on sweet vapors but only a little on tobacco ones, or vice versa.
There probably is an average puff per cart number, but I don't personally like averages lol I'm sure someone can get it for you if it exists.
I can go through a little 510 cart in no time though before i feel it needs topping up and I wasn't a heavy smoker most of the time; maybe a pack a day. Some people can make one of those tiny carts last ages; no idea how they manage that lol.

I think maybe your question is something else. Perhaps you are trying to make sure you don't overdo or under-do the vaping (a reasonable concern). Remember you can use very low (or very high nic) to regulate yourself if you need to. Also at the beginning you may vape more because its a novelty, or you got a flavor you love and can't put down.

No. You've completely missed the point. Everybody understands the question but there is no answer. Well, there is an answer but no one else can give it to you. You'll have to answer it yourself.

If your question was "How many puffs is giving me the equivalent ingestion of nicotine?" you'd have to take blood tests on yourself to get a comparison. It's going to be different for everyone. You can't compare milligrams of nicotine either since I don't think anyone knows how inhaling vapor with nicotine compares to inhaling smoke with nicotine as far as ingestion rate of the nicotine carried in them.

AND that's not the same question as "How many puffs are going to make me feel the same?" since you're inhaling something completely different. And every juice is different. The feeling is a combination of many different things. Throat hit, taste, etc.

Some common symptoms of getting too much nicotine are headache, nausea, racing heart, the shakes...

Didn't you ever smoke more analog than normal and get light/fuzzy headed, or sort of queazy, or something where you said "I've smoked too much right now". If you can reproduce that with your e-cig you might have something to compare.

I follow you there, but the answer I was looking for was this, and it is catered to what I chose to purchase.

My 510 unit is the "Q-Cigarette" disposable.

The first puff off each new cartridge (I have opened 2 cartridges) was the best. THe first 10 off of each new cartridge was nearly as equal. The satisfaction level tapered off after that first 10.

The amount of vapor was still active, but the actual nicotine feeling from puffs 15 to about 40 were half of the enjoyment that I got from the first several.

After 40 puffs, it seemed like it was vapor and nothing else. Maybe just a hint of nicotine, but it felt as though I was vaping for novelty only.

These are the cartridges that came boxed int he "Q" Cigarette. I normally don't smoke analogues more than 2 a night, but because I have enjoyed the convenience of the E-Cigarette, I've been upping my nicotine intake by quite a bit.

All in all, the answer I was seeking is that a typical cigarette takes about 5 minutes to smoke and can be between 8 and 20 puffs, WHether smoked casually or vehemently.

A good puff in the same draw as an analog cigarette on a 510 "Q" cigarette yeilds very similar results to one cigarette after 3-5 vapes, and can be considered similar at 12 - 15 vapes, or more; I had 35 vapes consecutively after a beer while chatting with a friend on facebook and suddenly had the urge to puf the vapor down.

It was a very relaxing experience, but I did finally find a natural stopping point.
