For some reason all of my smoker friends find the throat hit from vaping to be too extreme. I have yet to give someone a pv and not see them coughing within 10 seconds. They seem to think I'm some kind of jedi for being able to inhale it without losing a lung. It's mind boggling honestly, and I'd like to not turn people away from vaping.

Got 4 of my friends to buy the ego T kit after they tried mine. However 3 gave up on it as it was too fidly - filling/cleaning and the leaking issue. The other one was ok with the kit but got bored of trying to find his perfect flavour so gave up again.

It is a learning curve but it has become abit of a hobby for me so I do put up with all the little niggles vaping brings.

I haven't converted anyone, but haven't tried to either. If anyone shows interest, I'm more than happy to share info, or even give em a toot off of mine to try out. I'm not one for seeking out 'souls to save', as I don't really like being preached at myself.

*edit* Well, technically I'm up to one person, as my wife switched to vaping when I did, based on my research and newbie guidance! :toast:

Only one. Five people from work sounded semi interested. The second I see that door open I was there to lend them what they needed to try it out. So far they haven't taken the plunge into vaping. One co-worker who knew I started vaping all of a sudden came up to me and said he was ready to give it a go. I didn't even lend him anything to try. I spoke with him and he had actually purchased a kit and cut way back on his analogs. He seemed happy at the time. I haven't spoken with him for a few days. I don't want to bug him about it.

So far 1. and that was 3 years ago. he stayed on it, and I went back to analogs after 8 months. :( But now I'm back. and I'm working on 2 other people. (I'm giving my dad one, because he liked the EVO I had, and my brother will get one next month because he will no long be able to "bum one" from my dad or me). lol

Several, including one friend that pondered it for months before committing...people have to move at their own speed.

They'll also have their OWN reason...money, health, not smoking around a baby, etc - and THAT reason is the only thing that matters to them.

People resist change. It's human nature and happened with all technology. You pretty much have to remember that we're all in the first or second wave.

Also remember that you can't save everyone, and don't beat yourself up when someone that REALLY needs it (again, health or saving money vs a daily cig habit) isn't interested in converting - they are who they are, and you are NOT going to change them.

Lead by example, and answer questions when asked...simple as that.

I'm wondering if many need to feel it's their own idea. I've been gaping around the smokers at work since Xmas and have told them its very convincing when asked. None really seemed that interested, but a couple days ago 3 of them were suddenly sharing about the Mystic kits they or someone had gotten from WalMart or the gas station and another showed me her disposable. I guess their time had come. :)

I started vaping back in 2009 when the best thing out there was the DSE-901. After showing many of my friends who smoked back then they all wanted me to get one for them, and then their friends wanted them too. For some reason no one wanted to go online and order them themselves, they wanted me to get it for them so I bought 100 starter kits wholesale and sold every single one of them!! Still converting people all the time, it never ends. Its just the beginning my friend!!

I quit smoking a month and a half ago with one of the 7-11 type E-cigarettes . I had been smoking for 18 years without any breaks longer than a week or two without a cigarette from patches or gum . 3 weeks ago I bought an Ego-C and right after letting a couple friends try it out two have already bought their own Ego-C's and quit with me . I have a couple other friends ready to purchase kits themselves . I was wondering if this is normal for most people .. It feels like switching over to a vp is like wildfire around friends and family who still smoke .

I have a 3 friends who converted too after i let them try mine.

I think I have 1. She wants to marry mopar & jugz. All I could say is no, it would not be fair to the rest of Canada if my favorite juice & favorite hardware vendors were both my step Dads, at the same time  what would people think.

How in the world could my 78 year old Mom not be my hero.

I did suggest to her that she not sleep with her eGo, the night stand would be a very safe place for it. I think I have to go make sure she's sleeping alone tonight
