Well it's Monday morning again.....around 7:15 AM.....and it's now up to 9205. When I posted a week ago at this time, it was 8703. So what's that....500 in one week?

Well, it's about 25 hours since my last post...and it's now up to 9302. Those betting on the 10,000 mark (in the other thread) might need to reconsider

I was just thinking about this Houdini. If it was 4715 in March, it must have been pretty low when I joined in 11/08. So when I see long term members say "it isn't the same as when I joined here"....I guess not!
And at this growth rate, it will never be like it was when there was say, 1000 or 2000 members. And even though I didn't make note of it before, I'd say the "growth spurt" came somewhere shortly after the first of the year. This is only a guess but I don't recall this much of an influx around the holidays (Thanksgiving and Xmas) last year.

I think there might have been less than four hundred members when I joined (could be remembering wrong).
There tends to be a spurt when a big media channel reports on vaping, that happened with UK members when the BBC did an article. There has been a lot of coverage in the US and it's becoming fairly constant so the influx of US people seems steady now.
New Year saw a lot of new members - probably trying to follow new year resolutions to quit smoking. Then when the tobacco taxes were raised significantly in the US I think that encouraged a lot of people to look for alternatives.

It's a snowball effect. The more people that try it the more that find this place. It's crazy now with all the new comers (numbers wise) but think how it would be if all of them posted like regulars instead of just asking one or two questions and that's it. I'm sticking with May 17 as the 10K point.
I'm not sure either Kate, but I think you would be about right - I seem to remember it was somewhere around 320 or so when I joined a few months before you, so that figure of 400 sounds like it could be quite correct. How small, compared to now, eh..
