Well, there is a max, at some point the vapor will be so hot it will be uncomfortable to inhale. Some people like a cooler vape, some like it warmer.
Ok so pretty much on a regulated mod it will restrict it from getting to a point of too much power to the coil, so I can set it as desired. And what ohms would I keep it in Between?

I didn't watch all of that video, just confirmed it was 24g on a limitless rda, he will most likely answer many questions you might have. Since he is building for a mechanical mod, it's safe to say his build will work fine for you. With 24g you pretty much have a limited window for resistance that could realistically only vary by one wrap more or less, the build in the video will be a great first build and starting point.

I have a istick 80w, a spindle of 24ga kanthal wire and a limitless 24 rda. I want to know what ohms I can vape between of safely. And a basic dual coil build I can run. Pretty new to this stuff.

Eleaf istick 80w
  • Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for Variable Wattage and Bypass Mode

Kanthal 24AWG - .17Ω per inch/~2.0Ω per foot

Well crap I missed the fact that he used SS in the video, that exact build isn't going to work for you, stainless is lower resistance than Kanthal, sorry.

At 3mm you are probably looking at about 5 wraps per coil, like this:

Somewhere around 30w should work and give you decent battery life with that device.

No - a regulated mod will not stop you from trying to put an unsuitably large amount of power through your coils.

If you use Steam Engine to design your coils before building them, you will see that it's mainly the 'Heat Flux' figure that will tell you what kind of power will produce what temperature of vape from your build. You want to keep it in the green flame range.

So this build would be fine? 4 wraps for each coil?

Welcome and glad you joined.
I use just enough wattage to satisfy the flavor taste and where I can see the right amount of vapor on the exhale. Too much wattage and taste is the first to go for me.

Try this to keep it simple for yourself....Build 2 identical coils with 7 wraps each. Install on your atty. Test fire and get them to glow evenly from the inside out...Or better yet, use slightly spaced coils. Put on the top cap and make sure you don't have a short....Make sure your coils aren't touching the top cap. Wick it, juice it and start out at 30w. Increase power in 5w increments until you get to where you like it. Start there...

All this "how many watts can I use" or "how low can I build" stuff is nonsense and it's silly. Who cares how many watts you're pushing or how many amps you're demanding? It's not a contest. Stay in the safe range while you learn.
