Im wondering as to how much cotton i should be putting in my rda. Ive seen people fill the well with cotton, and ive also seen tiny wicks that only let the tips sit in the well. Preferences, advantages/disadvantages?

I use just tails touching the deck. IMO if you put in more you're making it a longer path from the end of the wick to the coil so the end doesn't really do much. All my drippers have at least a small drip well. I use that to store a bit of juice and let the short wick get it to the coil. My Mutation X has a huge drip well and I can get 8 - 10 drags at high power out of it with small wicks.

If you're putting cotton inside the coil the outside of the coil needs to be totally uncovered. Also, if you put way too much cotton in there you're reducing the size of the chamber and perhaps changing the air flow. That's OK if it's what you want to do, but know that you're doing it.

OTOH, I've seen some people use a lot more cotton and seem to have a decent vape. IMO it would be better for them with less cotton, but I have not done the experiment on their gear :)
