In Las Vegas I was paying around $5.50 for a pack a Newports from the smoke shop. If I went to Walgreens they were usually on sale 2 for $9.99.

Here in Washington state, they think the same way the "other" Washington does.
$90.69 a carton ... yup $9.69 a pack.
And .. they are trying to pass every law they can think up to stop the vapers ... 95% tax, nothing vape related allowed to ship or mail into the state, no ordering over the web, or phone, including hardware, as it's "drug paraphernalia"
How do they stop the mail in's ... easy, it's against the law, so the suppliers won't ship here for fear of being sued for breaking the law

Now correlate this data from this thread ( i.e. price for a pack ) with the eagerness of local/national gubmints to regulate vaping out of existence... no surprises there.

Think there is a thread somewhere about Texas shelving a bill which would have changed legal age for smoking from 18 to 21. Main reason : less tax in the till.

What shortsighted politicos ( not sure if there is any other brand around ) are forgetting: Vapers go voting too - and their numbers are increasing...

The last time I bought a packet nearly 6 months ago (YAY !!) they cost me €6.30 and I know they went up to €6.50 in January. They may well have gone up again since then but I haven't been into a Tabac since December (apart from once to buy a birthday card and I didn't look !!) You can only buy cigarettes from a Tabac in France and they are always the same price.

In Georgia a carton of Pall Mall (which is what I buy for my husband) is between $32 and $35 a carton. They were on sale a few weeks ago for $29 a carton.

In south west VA Camel Wides were $4.85 a few months ago. And Camel non filter almost $9. When CVS quit selling tobacco I got a carton of Pall Mall non filters for only $68

When I started smoking (1950) a pack of Camels was $0.17, and now a days worth of DIY juice costs $0.18. Damn this vaping is expensive

I haven't even looked to see what a pack costs for over three years, so I have no clue what they cost now.

My wife was in Olympia helping her brother out when I started vaping. She told me what she was paying for a pack of cigs there and I talked her into getting an Ego started set-up. The set-up, with two ego batteries, two clearo tanks and a charger was a little over $80 (I could have gotten locally for less than $35, but I wanted her to start getting off the cigs). It was still cheaper than a carton of cigarettes for her out there!!!
