How much is to much

It's been about two months now quiting smoking but vaping is more money. Is it to much to waste money on this or just wait till I get off cigs for good. I started with a mvp then istick then ipv. Now I just ordered a rdna from vaper shark. Maybe I'm just changing smoking to buying. How long does the averted smoker quit everything for good?

I quit smoking about a year ago, and was fine with that! Then the craving kind of came back but I really didn't want to smoke again, so I started looking into vaping. Got an ego battery and some cheap clearomizers and that worked great to curb the cravings... But.... Then I started to look at mods, and drippers. Now i've been vaping for almost a year, and own 2 mechs, an unregulated box, a Sigelei 150, and 5 or 6 drippers. that shinyitis is a dangerous thing! Just became more of a hobby than anything!

I know what you mean! I've probably spent as much money vaping as I did smoking at this point but I also used to do drugs and drink and I stopped all that stuff too, so like when I consider vaping as my replacement for all 3 vices, it's still saving me money and definitely health. It's a means to an end man, I'm down to 6 mg. the shinyitis does need to go though!

When I switched I think for a lot of people at time, it was like an investment of about a years worth of smoking.

Meanwhile, by the way, you are also being targeted for products; all that money that smokers used to spend is being targeted by the industry.
There's
- replacement batteries
- eliquid
- replacement atomizer heads for clearos

eliquid alone could end up costing as much as smoking used to cost.

I think it's a lot better now compared to when I switched.

Meanwhile there's numerous ways to cut down the recurrent costs:

- diy eliquid, from simple to full blown
- rta's and rda's to get away from buying replacement coil heads
- and you can even cut down on battery costs by getting something like the provape passthrough, or the innokin drv, or rigging something up yourself.

As for hardware, whatever else you end up with, having a modular mech and an rda can be a pretty bulletproof backup.

I've spent some cash looking for the right flavors. Probably have a few months worth of juice at this point. Luckily I don't hate any of them, just looking for variety and settling into a rotation. I've been fighting off the shinyitis by telling myself that I have no real good excuse to give my wife if I suddenly had more new gear. Currently have an istick 20, nautilus mini, and 2 aspire CE5-S tanks(for quick flavor changes). Considering getting a new tank but trying to hold off for a few months. :vapor:

Hehehehehe..... Hahahahaha!!!!!!!
Vaping is so much more expensive than smoking, hands down. Just look at other posts, 5-10 mil a day? At an average $10 per 10 mil, add in daily battery use plus coil and/or prebuilt coil price, averages out to more than the nationwide price/pack of cigarettes.
Just sayin
That's why I rebuild and buy 120ml bottles of juice. I never spend much over .50 an ml.

You're not even trying to save money. If you really want to save money then quit vaping/smoking.

Uhh... there's plenty of ways of saving money while still vaping -- make your own ejuice, build your own coils. Easy. It's dirt cheap, not only compared to smoking, but compared to buying premade ejuice or replacement coils that burn out in 3 days -- my own coils can last 3 MONTHS or more.

But I see no need to quit *everything*. The coffin nails are gone, that's good enough for me -- that's plenty!!!

Andria...

You, I, and most people in this thread know how to save money. OP has dropped cash on four different devices in the past two months, all of which can provide a solid vape. OP doesn't seem like they're trying to save money. You make an initial investment and it pays for itself in due time. But if you REALLY want to save moolah, don't vape or smoke.

You got shinyitis bro! You like new stuff...it's a hazard...Lol

I agree, it happens to many at first.

Either you become a collector or a vapor. Gotta find some decent gear that works for you and quit buying the gadget of the month. gotta start coming to the realization that oh look its the new xxxx. But huh,, its actually just more of the same, think ill pass.

the hardest part was accepting I already had a killer setup and stop trying stuff cause this one might be better if even by just a little bit.

Now I. Just buy things once in a while that really really stand out to me and watch everyone else burn through gear. Its fun to go ohhh look what I got -but do you really need it? What does it offer me that the one I have already doesnt?

Hmmm... when one is first starting, there's a need to get a nice multitude of devices. For one thing you need to try vaping in a lot of different ways, to know what you like best, and you really need to have backups for your backup's backup. I started vaping the first of last February, and by May, I had bought an eRoll, 2 iTaste vv3s, a Sigelei Zmax, an ego twist, and an ARO winder, plus a half dozen T3S's. The ego twist was a cheap knockoff and became defunct in pretty short order, but all the other stuff (except the T3S's) still works and gets used, though the Winder, not too often, and I now also have a Vamo v2 and 2 mechs, and a 3rd vv3. Too much? Nope. I can get a decent vape very easily, and have several flavors loaded up and ready to vape at any time -- in 3 different kayfuns and a Magma, and even a cartotank if I want, though I got tired of the expense of buying cartos.

Saving money is not the #1 objective, even though my own budget is extremely limited. The Prime Directive, if you will, is to happily refrain from smoking -- and save some money while I'm at it. Saying "just quit" in the name of saving money is irrational, and in the real world, will not happen, when one is truly addicted to smoking -- it's either vape or smoke, and vaping is both cheaper and healthier, so that's my choice.

When I smoked and money was tight, it was the food budget that took the hit, never the cigarette budget.

Its obvious that the goal is to quit smoking cigarettes. Reading the original post would state that OP would like to rid themself of an addiction.

Andria, you are pro-vaping. You are an enthusiast, and I base that on the list of devices you own. Not everyone is like that.

As far as saving money is concerned, I'll put it like this. You buy a mech that was originally $150 but went on sale for $100. You're not saving $50, you're spending $100.

And in the real world, there are some people who can "just quit". Not you or I, obviously.
