Under your bed
i have not smoked since september 6th of this year...so almost 3 months!

i started out with 12mg of nic because i was smoking around half a pack of smokes a day...

now i have started to get hard heart beats and lots of anxiety....because usually when i go to partys i dont put the thing down...

so my question is, how much nic should i be vaping now? none?

PS - i usually am in my friends house most of the day and he smokes inside...

Hi and welcome! If your heart is pounding and you're feeling anxious, you're getting too much nicotine. But that doesn't mean you have to go down to zero all the time. You might want to get some 6mg (or maybe even zero) for when you go out. Listen to your body. If you crave tobacco, you're not getting enough nicotine and if you're feeling "nic sick," you're getting too much.

I smoked 1.5 PAD for 40 years. I didn't know what level of nic to start at, so I picked 12mgs because it was in the middle. I figured if I was still craving cigarettes, I would vape more. That sort of worked, except I was vaping all the time Lol! So I got some 18mgs, thinking I would vape less, but I didn't. I like vaping. I now have juices ranging from 8-18mgs, and sometimes I mix flavors of different strengths, so what I vape can change not only from tank to tank, but within the same tank.

If you feel like those physiological abnormalities are being caused by having too much nic in your system then try the next step down from your vendor of choice. At most places that would probably be 6mg. Another thing worth considering is having multiple nic levels around so you can take it down a notch when you're chain vaping, and then still have something with higher nic for the "normal" times when you aren't vaping nearly as much.

Get some 6mg and some Omg juice.

Bounce between the strengths depending on how you feel.

One thing that I noticed when I switched from cigs to vape was that I vape a lot more than I ever smoked. I did not go from 24mg to my current 8mg because I wanted to wean myself down. I went down because I was vaping so much that the higher nic concentrations were making me sick.

Vape doesn't burn your throat/lungs like cigs do. Vape tastes a whole lot better than any cig ever did. Why not do it more?

So I did.

When I first started vapeing I made myself nic sick by chain vapeing. I would feel nauseous heart racing and just plain weeird! It wasnt a nice feeling and I was only vapeing at 12mg too. I started playing with the nic levels and bought some no nic juice for when I wated to chain vape and now stick to mostly 6mg (I have been vapeing about 10months) As vapeing is a personal thing nobody can really tell you how much is not enough or too much you need to listen to what your body tells you.

No need to quite vaping if you have some 0 nic juice; just vape that. It shouldn't take more than a day to clear most of the nic from your system but I'd give it 2. Then try some 6mg. I was a 1.5 to 2 PAD smoker of ultra-lights and found 12 to be peachy unless I'm chaining it...then I go for 6mg so I can sleep when I go to bed.

My favorite vape (that I was vaping all of time) was 12mgs. I then got it in 18mgs for the "maybe I will vape less" experiment. When it turned out I wasn't vaping less, I got the same flavor in 8mgs (it didn't come in 6mgs) and mixed it with the 18mgs until it was gone. Now I'm back to my favorite at 12mgs. Tinker, tinker, tinker...

I've been thru the same thing. I was a 40 yr 3 pad smoker and I started at 24mg. That got me off cigs. After 2 1/2 months I got the same anxiety/jittery thing and started testing levels...and have settled at 12-18mg for now, but still assessing whats best...seems about 15mg works. I also found that I had to seriously cut back on caffeine...slamming coffee all day long was contributing to the jitters. I have several levels of 0-24mg bottles of my favorites, so I'm still mixing and testing. Bottom line is that your nic needs may change over time...mine certainly have.

I now have juices ranging from 8-18mgs, and sometimes I mix flavors of different strengths, so what I vape can change not only from tank to tank, but within the same tank.

I've been stepping down the nic level lately, and I can attest to the benefit of having multiple levels on hand. I'm currently at 18mg most of the time, but I use 12mg the last few hours of the day to avoid going to bed with so much in my system. In my next order, I'm planning to use 12mg as my "normal" level with a bottle of 6mg for night time and a bottle of 18 or 24mg to kick things into gear quickly in the morning or when I don't have time to enjoy vaping. Ultimately, I planned to get into DIY (mostly to save money in the long run), but it's one of those things that's always "some day".
