I vape 5mls of 18mg juice a day. I have been tapering down from 36mg in the last month. It is going well not noticing much of an increase in the amount of liquid I vape. I hope to be down to 3mg-6mg by next year. I am keeping my calculations at 18mg just to be sure I have enough nic stockpiled.
I buy 100mg nic liquid.
5.4mls of liquid nicotine per 18mg, 30ml diy bottle made.
So that's 6 days.
5.4÷6=0.9mls/day
So let's just figure 1ml/day.
365mls/year x 40 years (I am 52 plan on vaping in the rest home)= 14,600mls
3,785mls/gallon
14,600÷3785=3.69 gallons
So I am thinking 4 gallons of 100mg nic should last my lifetime. Does all of this sound reasonable? That's only $800 regular price. About what I spent on cigs in a year. Ihave need nic river to have a sale!!!!

I vaped 18mg until I started diy over year ago; now at 14mg. My initial buy of 1 liter of 100mg is just less 450 ml gone.

I originally thought one liter might last 5 years with a proper step down. As well, I bought the most expensive nix I could find.

Here in Illinois they are trying to take their smokes/vape away. Some homes are already illegalling refusing them their nic even outside.

BTW, I'm 52 this year as well.

Once those da's in power realize they'll get more votes if they just let people just be people.

There is so much more research going on with nic these days, it could become a prescription.
That's exactly what we don't want, would rather it stay classified as a tobacco. The taxes and freedom to choose our nic level is the lesser of two evils. The doctors that aren't conservative are joined at the hip with BP. Would rather be legally vaping. I don't the upcoming election will change anything honestly. We are caught in a never ending power struggle here.

Your math lost me. I prefer to look at the actual nicotine. Try this on for size:D:
Based on 5mL of 18mg/mL per day:

    5mL x 18mg = 90mg/day
    365 days x 90 mg = 32,850mg/year

    1L (1,000mL) of 100mg/mL nic contains 100,000mg of nic (1,000mL x 100mg = 100,000mg)

    100,000mg ÷ 32,850mg/yr = 3.044 years per Liter of 100mg/mL nic base
(at your current 18mg/mL 5mL/day rate)(does NOT account for loss, spillage, or unvapeable mixes)

Take the total number of years you want to stockpile and divide by 3.044 and you are good to go! :D
