Ok so I've been vaping for a long time, but I've never used a rda. But I'm about to get a dark horse or a mutation x v4 this Friday but I'm trying to figure out would a ipv mini 2(70w) be able to make some sick clouds with one of those rdas? I want a sigelei 150 but I dont have the money right now so I'm leaning towards the ipv mini. Thanks for the help! Also how many watts do you guys use your rdas at?

I've seen a lot of people get by with an iStick 50watt and an RDA, still gives a decent vape and plume of vapor. The IPV Mini 2 is a good mod as well, just remember to reach 70watts, you'll need some Sony VTC4's or Xtar 2100mah 30amp batteries (the Xtar 2100mah 30amp is a re-wrapped VTC4), and you'll need at least a Nitecore i2, Nitcore D2, Xtar 2bay, or Efest Luc 2bay charger to charge 18650 batteries with your setup, IPV, 2batteries at 7 to 12 dollars, and charger at between 15 to 25 dollars added into the expense of your purchase.

On my IPV V3 and Sigelei box mods, both 150watts, I'm generally at about 35-55 watts on my Doge V2 RDA, my mutation x v2 i'm about 45 to 65watts.

I have a .2 ohm dual coil build in my mutation x v4 as we speak on top of my ipv mini 2. So I can assure it's a really great vape. I was shooting for a .3 build but oh well. I am running it at 60 to 70 watts. This build would be better suited for more power but it does the job. I just don't even touch my sigelei 100w anymore since I got the sx mini and the ipv mini. But yes that would be a great combo. Not sure what resistance you like to build to but .3-.5 would be great with that combo

The IPV Mini2 cant even reach 20 amps, maxed out. Samsungs and LGs are fine for this mod and you can get 2 for the price of 1 sony.

So basically 70w is plenty of power for some nice clouds? Because what most of yall are saying is between 30-50. The way I look at is, its nice to have a high wattage vape (like 100, 150, etc)because the battery life will be alot longer. I plan on getting a mutation v v4 or a dark horse, suggestions on which one? And probly four Sony vtc 4's or Samsung 25R's.

I am one of the few that never vapes over 20 watts even with RDA's , to me , the best flavor is only achieved with RBA's like a Kayfun v4 and certain RDA's like a Veritas , Magma pushing a mere 15-20 watts , flavor so rich and tasty i don't even want to exhale .

OHM's are always between 1.2- 1.8

I hate clouds by the way , never understood peoples fascination with them .

Not accounting for the efficiency of the mod itself, at 70 watts with a battery close to being fully discharged, say 3.0 volts, the circuit will be pulling 23.3 amps from the battery, regardless of what it's putting to the atomizer.

Pioneer4You specifies the input current range as 1.3 to 30 amps. If you're going to be pushing the power to the upper range of the mod, you're going to want 30 amp batteries.

the watts you need depends on what ohm your coils will be and how warm u like your vape.
I vape my .6 ohm magma at 35w
my marquis .6 ohm at 44w
my revolt .3 ohm at 60w

I just ordered a magma clone, going to be vaping on istick 50w.... This is going to be my first RDA, ive read on here going too far below 1ohm and above 20w makes the magma get too hot......No issues vaping it at 35???

No it won't. The mod stops firing when the battery reaches 3.2V. You get a low voltage warning instead of it firing.

Pioneer4You specifies the input current range as 1.3 to 30 amps. If you're going to be pushing the power to the upper range of the mod, you're going to want 30 amp batteries.

Pushing any battery to it's limit will shorten the life of the battery so they always add in extra headroom. That said, as long as you're willing to live with reduced battery life you can max the IPV out on 20A batteries and never exceed that 20A mark. You'll be right on top of it and running the batteries to their limits though.

As for myself, I decided 200W was plenty. Can't imagine needing more than that. (In truth I won't ever be anywhere near that, it's a temperature control mod so most of the time it will be running at 20W or less, and only going as high as 70W when I first press the fire button to instantly heat the coil. The instant the coil hits the operating temperature the watts start dropping to maintain it.)
