The coil shouldnt glow at all while juiced up, you have what is referred to on here as a HOT-LEG. How did you make your coil, drill bit rolled it on by hand then attached to atty or what? Make sure that your top coil is short as possible without touching the POS post and at the same time making sure it isnt too tight or too loose. Pics help when it comes to questions about coil setup and all that as well as what kind of atty, wire and mesh.

When your wick is juiced up there should be zero glowing anywhere. If your legs (the length of wire between the posts and the coil) are glowing, this means you most likely have a short.

Dry your wick out and empty the tank. Do a dry burn and see if your coils are all glowing evenly. It's pretty easy to spot a short, usually a section of wire will be glowing brighter than the rest, or you'll see little super bright dots appear where the coil meets the wick.

In my opinion the best method of removing shorts is to pulse them out. Fire your device several times in short bursts with a dry wick. This will cause the shorts to basically burn themselves out. if you are having trouble getting all your coils to evenly heat up, you can wiggle the wires around a bit with a pin or a small flat head screwdriver to work the shorts out.
