I was wondering how much it cost to start diy juice, and exactly what supplies I need. I won't be buying ANYTHING for a long while, I am just curious. Its hard enough to afford juice right now, and yes its that bad now days. Every dollar counts lol. So just wondering what all do I need to start, and maybe a link to a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

I use RTS Vapes for nic base, flavorings, bottles and most syringes

DIY E-Cig Supplies & E-Cigarette Liquid | Make Your Own E-Liquid | RTS Vapes

Amazon for PG and VG (and a catheter style 60ml syringe for vg)

Propylene Glycol 1 Quart: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

My monthly cost to DIY is now $6.42 per month based on 200ml usage (this figure was based on a higher cost for pg and vg from amazon - the prices are now down about 15% from my last purchase)

initial setup is spendy (about a $100 -

) but will be recouped quickly if you vape a lot

$10 to $15 plus shipping. Will get you started.
Below is a link to unflavored juice with nicotine and everything else you need. Pick an option for vg/pg, nicotine and size. Get a few flavors and a couple syringes. One 1 millimeter one 5 millimeter, the 5ml is optional if you want to splurge. You are ready to go.

20% flavor,,, really? WOWzers I was looking at 5-15% most. I know it depends on a lot of factors and I haven't started yet (still not home to play with my kit).

OP, I bought bottles, syringes, PG, VG, and 200mL and a ton of nic (200+ mL of 100mg nic) for about 150 bucks. From what I've heard you will want to go with a weaker nic unless you have somewhere ventilated to mix and know proper lab procedures (30-50mg), but that's just what I've heard. I have a place to work and lab skills so I didn't worry about the warnings too much. The nic alone should be enough for me to mix 2000-4000mL of juicies so I'll be good to go for a LONG time, and as I keep dropping my nic it'll probably last forever if stored properly.

For 100 bucks you can get a LOT. about 10-15 bottles of various flavors were included in the above price as well.

Lol. 20 percent for flavour just to make life simple

Also I don't vape nicotine. Gave up nicotine a while ago I'm just addicted to see smoke / vape blow out

Let me run down my start up cost.

$14.7 for 2 litres of VG
$30.66 for 2 lifers of PG
$3 for syringes
$150 for 21 x 30 ml flavours from the perfumers apprentice
$5 for 40 x 10 ml bottles
$7 for 20 x 50 ml bottles
$8 for 30 x 30 ml bottles

$218 .36 for my start up costs for diy. I bought more then needed for sure

But I was taught if I was going to do something. Do it right.

I calculated my cost

Pg 0.01533 per ml
Vg. 0.00735 per ml
Flavour. 0.25929 per ml

So totally up to you now but a 100 ml of 70 PG/35 VG with 20 percent flavour cost

$6.1728

You can buy 50 ml from fasttech for about 6 bucks

This is canadian dollars if that makes any difference.

I am totally lost with those calculations.

Somewhere out there
The sooner you start, the sooner you start saving money.

If funds are tight, you can start very minimally. A small bottle of concentrated nic, small bottles of VG & PG. 3 syringes, 1ml, 3ml and 10ml.
A couple of vials of flavorings. Reuse your bottles from vendor juices.

Check out the DIY forum section for lots of information.

Breakdown of what it cost me to get started:

from RTSVAPES -
60 ml bottle of 48mg nicotine (100% PG) 7.95
60 ml bottle PG $4.35
60 ml bottle VG $4.35
10 - 10 ml empty bottles $4.90
Discount (coupon code "first order") $ ( - ) 3.33
Shipping $4.95
TOTAL $23.17

from onestopdiyshop -
8 - 6 ml bottles of flavorings @ $1.65 each
1 - 6 ml bottles of flavoring @ $1.50
empty 1 oz amber glass bottle $1.25
Shipping $5.00
TOTAL $20.95
*Forgot to use the coupon code ("ECF") for 10% off

Walmart
1 ml syringe 23 cents
5 ml syringe 27 cents
10 ml syringe 32 cents
Tax 6 cents
TOTAL 88 cents

Bottom line total to get started - $45.00

So for $45.00 dollars I made 150 ml of juice (15 mg @ 75/25) with enough flavoring left over to make
another 700 ml.. and also have 30 ml of VG left.
That calculates to $1.14 per 10 ml bottle plus 49 cents for the bottle or $1.63 total... 16.3 cents per ml..

Then I got smart -
2nd order from myfreedomsmokes -
60 ml bottle of 60mg nicotine (100% VG) $8.95
250 ml bottle of PG $6.95
discount (coupon code "ECF-DISC13") $ ( - ) 1.60
shipping $5.95
TOTAL $20.25
Using 60mg nicotine and making my final mix 12mg @ 80/20 this creates 300 ml of juice..
That brings the price down to 84 cents (flavor included) per 10 ml plus 49 cents for the bottle
for a total of $1.33 per 10 ml bottle or 13.3 cents per ml..

I use about 3 ml per day so my cost is about 40 cents per day..

Still have flavoring left for another 400 ml..

Now to answer the original question - $50.00 will get you started

$23.17 will get you nicotine, PG and VG that you can mix to whatever
strength you want at whatever ratio you want.

Choose 1 or 2 or 3 flavors you want to try.. Buy the smallest size flavoring
you can get. Means less loss if you don't like a flavor..

Wash and reuse any empty bottles you have on hand to save you that expense.

Get your syringes at the pharmacy at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens etc..
