How much was your first pack of analogs

i started in the mid '60s. i can't really remember but maybe a quarter a pack???

i do remember promising myself that if they ever got to $1/pack, i'd quit.... then $2... then $3....

i quit one month ago...

i once paid $12/pack at a hotel. sheesh...

Don't remember for sure, I'd guess somewhere between .65 and .75 cents. i remember there was quite a bit of talk of people quitting when they reached a dollar. In the military I paid $4 a carton and $2 a carton when they went on sale, those were the days.

$4 when I started, Marlboro red in 2007 and $7 for Marlboro lights at the local 7/11 for my last pack

Not sure how much when I started in '65, less than .25?
In Oregon in '68 I was making 1.67/hour and a carton of L&M's was $2.50.
By the time they got to $20/carton I was making that per hour.... last pack was over $8

$.75 a pack. I would buy for my older sister and charge a few cigarettes for walking to the machine for her. When I quit they were about $6.50, nearly 2 years ago. Just need to add an OMG for the NY prices... that's insane!

Wow, some of those end prices are more outrageous than I'd ever pay. I've been in Georgia for a few years and was in Kentucky before that. Two of five or so the cheapest places to get cigarettes.

I think you could find name brand for less than a dollar a pack when I started but the places that would sell to minors were a hair over. I decided I wasn't going to continue the outrageous prices for the last 1 1/2 years of smoking, generics were $3 but if I decided to get marlboro, it was over $5 just about a month ago.

I remember when they were about to kiss $4 in KY. A few of us were on break at work complaining. A lady quite a bit older than the rest of us said, "I remember when you could walk into a store at 12 years old, get a pack of cigarettes, a candy bar, and a coke for both of you; lay down a dollar and get change.

From what I remember 0.75 cents a pack back in the 70's. Last carton cost me $58.37.
Still have 6 full packs left in the carton. Haven't touched a analog in 31 days. I am done with them.

Chicago = $11.00 - $12.50 a pack. It's outrageous. It's the state tax, and the Cook County tax. I wanna say before the taxes are put on top of a pack of cigarettes, they would cost around $2.00 - $4.00.



I remember when I went on tour once when I was still a smoker, I was in the South/Eastern States of the US, and just ended up buying a couple hundred dollars worth of cartons thinking I won the lottery it was so much cheaper.

Anyways, those smoking days are done.

I remember a carton going from $10.00 to around $50 about overnight. I couldn't believe it.

I think they're about $7.50 a pack these days in Arizona. All those taxes are robbery.
