Hey guys im still kinda new to mech mods, been using my panzer with stillare atty for a couple months now. Ive noticed that the coils get kinda black and gunky after like 2-3 days of vaping and i get a small burnt taste / mute of flavor. Does this mean that i need to change coils or cotton or maybe both? do i really need to change it that often? How often do you guys change your setup. Oh also i am running a Single Gplat coil at .3 ohms and i vape A LOT throughout the day lol thanks for the info vape on :vapor::vapor:

just change the wick and dry burn the coil till it burns all the gunk off.I usually pulse the button when i dry burn and dont let it get too hot because It can burn ur insulator and it will pop a 28 guage coil at .3 ohms if you hold it down too long(from my experience).I've been running the same .3 ohm coil for about 2.5 months now.I usually take the wick out and dry burn it about once every 4-5 days.If you are using a heavy VG juice you might have to change it every day or every other day.

When you get that taste, you general need to at least dry burn your coil. If you use cotton or another organic that can't take a burn, you'll have to remove it first to do that.
Rinse off your coil, give a a few half second bursts to help clear off the black, then a full second or two until it starts to glow again. Rinse off, replace your wick.
If you use silica wicks, you can dry burn without removing the wick.

Good call... Wicking with organic cotton, I rewick every other day or so. Dryburn when I rewick.

I agree with changing the wick when you receive a bad taste but the coils last forever. As long as my coil burns from the inside out when I dry burn...........I keep using them. I literally go months on the same coil. Each time I dry burn I also check the resistance. Good luck to you. Now I could be doing something wrong, but it works for me. :D

thank you for the rinse advice. there seems to be a possibility of bad things in the oxidation after dry burning. i always rinse the coils in running water til the white comes off before rewicking .

Some say not to.. I have found that a worse taste is there if you don't.. :O
So, just my opinion!
