How often do you clean your clearos?

It seems like I have to clean and dry burn mine on a daily basis. I have 3 or 4 clearos I rotate during the day and vape less than 1ml from each per day. At the end of the day, they all taste a little burnt and not nearly as smooth. After a good cleaning and dry burn, it's back to perfection. If I wait 2-3 days, it's not even vapeable.

Because I "waste" a lot of liquid everyday due to losing what's absorbed on the wicks, I only put about .4ml - .6ml in each clearo. Maybe I should just fill it up? Sometimes, instead of cleaning, I just add fresh eliquid and it helps, but doesn't compare to a good cleaning.

Some of my Liquids can last weeks and keep the flavor level and smooth. My favorite daily vapes seem to be the ones that need cleaning most often. Liquid will go from amber to black in about 12 hours.

MBV Yellow cake is the "dirtiest", but it is one of my top 3 flavors. HHV Blueberry Muffin is not quite as bad after 1 day, but 2 days is not happening.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this just something you have to deal with for some flavors, specifically sweet flavors?

I don't dry burn, and my protank heads seem to last about two weeks (fruit juices). I rinse those and the EVODs when changing juices, but keeping like flavors in these clearos seems to make them last longer IMO. Then again, all my more dense juices go into carto tanks and in my iclears. That probably helps also.

What kind of clearos? Top coils always have a bigger risk of a problem with the wick inside the coil going dry and developing a problem. Once that starts and you have begun burning crud onto the coil and wick it's all down hill from there.

Then it comes down to flavors. Some stuff - typically very dark or very sweet liquids - gunk up a coil faster. Right now I'm on day 11 with a 100 VG Cuban from The Vapor Room in a BCC Kanger. But I've pushed that about as far as I can. The vapor production is falling off but it doesn't taste harsh or burnt. (yet)

My juice is pretty clean/plain and I only go through 1-1.5ml per day between two clearo's....My evods and t3s can go for 3-4 weeks before any noticeable difference in taste . At that point I do a dry burn and add a couple flavor wicks.

I cleaned my newish t3s' this last weekend and they were still pretty clean after 2 weeks/5 tanks each. I'm still going to try and clean them every 2 weeks from now on. Just cuz..

I'm relatively new, but most of what I know about vaping I learned here on the forum.

Following advice I got here, I've been cleaning my tanks/heads after refilling 2-4 times depending on the juice. I mostly use lighter, PG heavy juice so I can get away with filling 4 times before a good cleaning. Some tanks I use slightly darker/thicker juice and I clean after 2 or 3 refills.

I clean by rinsing the tanks/heads under hot water and soaking in alcohol for 20-30 minutes, rinsing again, and drying on a paper towel. I keep several tanks in rotation so I usually let the clean tanks dry over night, though I'm sure they don't need to dry that long.

I'm very strict about cleaning and have been getting great performance and life out of replacement heads. Of course, you may get different results depending on the delivery systems and juice you use, but regular cleaning definitely helps. It also becomes a habit...I have admittedly become quite obsessive about cleaning. A vaping "neat-freak" if you will.

I'm using Kanger T2, Mini Viva Nova, and a CE5 type clearo with eGo type batteries. I've tried the EVOD's and can't get any vapor out of those and they leak and spit juice in my mouth. Can't stand them, so I haven't even considered a Protank. I like top coil clearos, I think it's because of the warm vape I get from them, especially the T2.

I thought the dry burn actually cleaned (by way of burning) the crud off the coil. No?

I can take the head off of my T2 without dumping the liquid out, wash of the wick and coil and dry burn, and when it goes back together it's smooth and tasty, even with the used darkened liquid.

I do have a 510 atomizer that I drip in during the day to help prolong the life of my clearos. I just like the convenience of clearos and I'm not into big tanks or batteries. I'm content with the ego/clearo set up for now. Just wish I didn't have to clean them daily.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try a few different things and see if things get better.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Sweet dessert type flavors will gunk up your devices much quicker than your other clear juices. I love StL Gooey Butter Cake but it doesn't like my devices very well. It is a very dark sweet juice and gets even darker before I can go through a full ml of it.

I didn't dry burn at all for a while. I do now and it makes a big difference. You can watch the coil go from black to clean silver in a half dozen pulses. If one tastes weird after that I toss it but it's crazy how much life you can get out of a coil if you take care of them.

My usual rotation of heads is every 4-5mls I soak it in grain after rinsing with hot water and let dry. If it's not a clean vape after that I put it in the "to be dry burned" film container. Once there's a half dozen or so in the container I spend a few minutes burning them off. It's quick and easy once you do it. Each one takes 2 minutes tops.

My tanks are all kanger or compatible with kanger coils. Keeps my vape maintenance life simple.
