Honestly I've never replaced a coil due to it wearing out or popping.
I recoil my rebuildables several times a week sometimes, I'll be browsing some vaping forums and see a cool idea and want to try it out, so I'll recoil even though the old coil was still perfectly fine.
It's actually kind of nice on my dripping attys it's really easy to remove the coil and wick completely intact and replace it if you want to. I have a few little containers full of probably 40 to 50 coil+wicks that are still perfectly good, and sometimes I'll go back to a configuration I had previously instead of actually making a new coil.
It's more difficult doing this with my genesis attys, as removing the wick and coil and replacing it at a later date is a more involved process, since moving the wire all over tens to increase the chance of hotspots or shorts appearing.
So usually my gennys have the same coil for at least a few weeks, by drippers get replaced at least weekly but not due to any problem with the coil.
