Personally, I charge mine when they go below 20% (usually into single digits). I have an evic so I have a battery meter.

I'm old school, I think it's always a good idea to drain as much as possible before charging. But that's the way I've trained myself from years gone by...NiMH...etc...

I think if it's charged or near full, and sits unused for a while it should be fine. Again, I'm no expert but that's my 2 cents.

don't over drain an imr, if you do it can become unrecoverable. recommended to not let drop below 3.4 volts unloaded. Fortunately both my pvd's have an auto shut off that doesn't let my batts drop below a certain threshold, and I have an Xtar VP1 charger too, so that I can get maximum life off my batts. Don't know how long they can last once charged.

Hello

Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries

How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

The hold time on Li Ion is very high, there is very little self drain but it does self discharge over time...

How to Store Batteries – Battery University

You don't have to keep topping them off but maybe every few months if stored a long time...however DO NOT drain a Li Ion battery to its cutoff voltage then let it sit..the internal self drain will drain past it's lowest point resulting in it NOT being able to be recharged safely, it is best once you drain it down, recharge it before storing.

If you are going to store it, charge it to 40%-50%. Check voltage every 6 months and if needed recharge to 40%-50%. Best not to discharge below 20% and better 30%. Lithium-ion suffers from keeping a cell at a high charge voltage and deep discharge.

Lots of good information here How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University
