I did have an atty go bad this weekend and also a bad bat. I tried getting the atty apart with no luck. Then I decided that I should clean it first so I could see what there was better if I did get it apart. I put it in some boiling water for 10 min. then hooked it to the bad bat. for levrerage. It came right apart. It seems there is also glue that holds it together besides the knarled edge. The hot water softened the glue and helped it come apart. I learned a lot about how they are put together and also got the bat. apart and saw how it was made.
