Hello everyone it’s a pleasure to be a new member in this forum . I have a question… I recently purchased a pico 75 it seems to be operating perfectly with one exception I am a mouth to Long vaporer and fairly new at this. The draw on the device is way too loose or open… I’m not sure what the right term is. I’ve tried to adjust the air volume control but it doesn’t seem to get tight enough for me

Turn the base of the MELO 3 on top of your Pico in either direction to get the desired draw.
The Pico 75w TC normally comes with a 2ml version of the MELO 3. It does help for you to know what you have and share it when asking for help.

Welcome to the ECF!!

You may not be able to get the restrictive draw that you like with that tank. That tank uses pretty open coils. tanks designed for MTL use very small inner diameter coils along with very small airflow channels. A good example of an MTL tank would be the Aspire Nautilus 2. Very different design regarding airflow than the Melo 3.

You can use the EUC c-cells from is it Vaperesso? That's what I put in mine, and I'm really liking them (apart from the tank size) although it is an airier draw than I'm used to. This tank may not be the best MTL tank. You can buy items separately or in a kit, if you are looking for a tighter, cigarette like draw, I would recommend the Nautilus 2, which is a fairly inexpensive tank. It is set up for pure MTL hits, with more restricted airflow options and higher resistance coils (it comes with a 1.8 and a 0.7 coil and you can get a 1.6 coil as well, which is my personal favorite). There's also the Ego One Mega, which can be a MTL, that takes the c-cell coils which come in various resistances. I absolutely love the 1.0 resistance coil. Other MTL tanks that might be useful would be the Nautilus X (this has its lovers and haters) and maybe a triton mini tank as well.

You can keep your other tank, for if you ever want an arier draw, and you can really put most tanks on most mods provided they are both 510 threaded, and just adjust wattage etc. on the mod.

Best of luck, you can see how your vape is on the smallest airflow setting, but it will be still probably more of an airy direct lung hit, rather than a true MTL hit.

The Melo III Mini tries to be both an MTL and a DL tank and doesn't do a great job of either.

It does take the Atlantis coils, and I know that there are some plus ohm coils available that tighten up the vape a bit. But even all the way closed, the Melo still allows too much airflow to be a satisfying MTL option.

The Nautilus 2 is a popular choice for MTL. The Joyetech Tron makes for a nice tootle puffer, too. Unlike the Melo, the Tron's airflow almost cuts off completely, and the rebuildable CLR coils let you roll your own resistance.

Oh wow, thanks for the info, now I'm interested. I bought my son the N2 and I tried it with the .7 coil. The flavor was great but slightly too restrictive, still doable though at 20/23 watts. Great MTL starter for him and he liked the design of the tank.

I want a great flavor MTL tank that I can DL with, just a bit more than the Nautilus 2.

I have a varied assortment of tanks, Blazer Pro, Cleito 120, Baby, Big Baby, NRG and my favs 4 Tobecos.

From your post I'm assuming the Melo and Tobeco would be comparable since they both can use Atlantis coils?

I'd like to find a slightly lower watt/coil for my tanks for batt/juice consumption savings. Plus less vapor when driving.

If you build you might want to take a peek at the siren (V2 maybe, I forget). Sounds to me what you are lookin for.

Hi BillSyr. Welcome to the ECF.

You've gotten a Ton of Good Advise. But I'll throw in one more thing that Might help.

And that is to try using a Drip Tip with a Smaller Inner Bore.

You might enjoy trying the cthulhu hastur rta also. It comes with several airflow inserts so you can design exactly the vape for you.

I haven't tried it yet as I've only just ordered it, but it's getting rave reviews so far and is affordable to boot.

Good luck to you... the siren is also a good choice but if I were you I might get the Hastur as well, then you will have the opportunity to learn exactly what air flow your looking for in the future..
