Recently Vapor4Life received some 65mm batteries from a new manufacturer we were trying out. They seemed all right at first, but we soon found out that the center post doesn't spring back up the right way, which leads to a loss of contact, and no power from the charger or to the cartomizer. Fortunately ECF Fourum member Jon Solo found a quick and easy trick to put the post back in the proper position! And here is a demo!

The worst part is, it's not "birds," all that noise is coming from just ONE!

Leaford, thanks for posting the video. Hoping I don't need it, but I do have a shortie on order.

BTW, love your bird in the background. Every time I watch one of your videos, my little cockatiel hears your bird and starts mimicking the same sounds that your bird makes, LOL. It makes her very, very happy! Just thought I'd share.

Cool! The funny thing I was just laughing at Mike during the editing because he was doing the same thing, reacting to himself on the video. :D

I'm not having any luck. I think I understand the video and what I'm supposed to do, but I don't think it's working for me. I still can't get it to charge; I can't even get the LED to light up.

I am going to leave it on the charger overnight and see if it works in the morning. Maybe it is actually fixed but I can't tell because it has no charge in it?

I thought the same thing yesterday when I tried it at work. After raising the post, I put it in my PCC and nothing happened other than the PCC light turning red.

Then I noticed the LED was glowing very faintly. I left it on the PCC and now all is good. :)

No, mine is definitely dead. Nothing I've tried has worked. Bummer.

If you can't get a red light on the charger, you are SOL. I have had a total of 5 of these shortys:

  1. DOA. Jon Solo Fix (JSF) worked and vapes like a champ.
  2. Feeble. JSF only worked for...Jon Solo (friend of mine)
  3. Feeble. JSF worked.
  4. DOA. JSF did not work
  5. Worked right out of the box.
So, not exactly a stellar product. The V4L guys have been great about replacing them, so I have no complaints overall. Never the less, I am through with these batts and will wait for the next shipment.

Why go through all this hassle? The shortys are a perfect tactile fit for an analog. I actually found myself "flicking" it while reading the other day.

Sadly, this did not work for my new pink shorty I just got in the mail today. The center post appears to be well below the air holes, so I can't reach it.

I know Steve will replace it for me, but does anyone have any other ideas? I tried shaking it to see if I could get it to move, but it doesn't. It's an auto (thought I had ordered the manual, but I might have messed up).
