Not all of us have the skill, patience, or tools to cut a perfect rectangle. The best solution would be an attractive frame to cover the rough edges. I have been looking for an easy solution. If you leave the protective wrap on the meter in time it starts to stretch and ripple, , if you remove the wrap the black paint wears off and it turns white like in the pic. Actually doesn't look that bad in white.. What have other modders done?

haven't tried it yet but...... i was looking at using the drive belts from a scrapped out vcr - they're square and just the right thickness - and if that works my next thing will be to learn how to drill the holes straight for the l.e.d.'s

I was thinking of small black plastic tubing, I tried it with small shrink tubing but the corners crimp like in your pic,,

Epoxy putty isn't such a bad idea. You can roll out a generally correctly shaped tube and press it in where you want it, then use a putty knife (or something metal with the right curve) to properly shape it. A tube of the right diameter can be used to press it again and make sure it is smooth. As it hardens it is still quite pliable. Once cured you can even sand and paint it. Or Sharpie it.

Mamu uses adhesive vinyl framing on hers. Looks good on pics, I hope to see firsthand tomorrow. :)

I've done this with computer modding and it turns out pretty good...next time you buy something in one of those brutal to open blisterpacks made of that tough as hell clear plastic...with a pair of sharp scissors cut out a perfect rectangle bigger than the meter (duh)...then using a ruler and a black Sharpie draw a window frame...when you flip it over the black frame looks pretty good...glue to your box surface over your mounted meter with clear silicon, when the silicon cures just exacto around your window and with your finger roll off any splurty outty bits...
