I picked up a silver conductive pen at Radio Shack.

I just sanded off the chrome plating off the battery contacts, applied and cured.

That's a significant reduction in the contact resistance. Nice.

One more thing, the coil is 1.4 ohm with an Igo L.

And someone was just trying to tell me that series resistance from contacts / low resistance tubing was negligible. It quite simple is not.

I also painted a few thick lines along the length of the tube from end to end. Took off another nice little chunk of resistance for me. But I am using a really poor quality aluminum alloy tube. From one of those super cheap flashlights.

Sounds pretty messy. And yeah it's silver. My first application has held up so far. The grey color has cured to a shiny silver, where it's making contact.

By all means try the grease, and see what kind of numbers you come up with.

First of all, I'm a non electronics dude, so take this as you may. I just tried some Noalox on my KTS. I had previously sanded all contacts except for the 510 connection that fits the carto. I put Noalox on the firing button contact point only, and using an Efest IMR 18350 batt, and a Resurrector 1.7Ω carto.

Before Noalox:
No load = 4.14
With load = 3.77

After Noalox application:
No load = 4.14
With load = 3.84

So, even w/o the numbers, I can tell it's hitting better. I guess all this proves, is that Noalox does help, but may not equal your results.

Right it does work great on the threads, but would be a little messy on the battery contacts.

Right, I just applied to the side button contact point that hits the pin. No way am I putting noalox on the battery contacts.

How did you take apart the spring / nylon washer off the bottom button? Just remove that c-clip with a screwdriver and assemble the same way? Also, what was used to sand the positive battery contact in the longer tube, seems kinda hard to reach.

nice thread!!....using a puck it is even more important ... because now there is 4 batteries...the spring resistance alone is halv an ohm .
so ohms law would be ..lets say resistance in series of .5 ohms and the atty at .5 ohms ..the voltage drop would be halv the supply voltage..!!! so that is why the puck with the radio schack springs is so bad . and of course vapes better with a 3 ohm atty !!
so it is easy to figure using ohms law the watts lost. very nice battery calculation in the stickies .
the electronics make the atty happy but no escaping ohms law ..the battery works from 12 till noon .
if you have a chance see the new lavatube video..tauting the safty of the device with the resistance spring ...whauee.
went to rs to find the silver paint . they have a product which is silver w glue . I don't think that is the one you are using.
