Hi, diy'ers! I have a question about soda type flavors. How do you get more of the effervescence or fizziness thing happening. The TPA cola syrup was fine, but the TPA rootbeer, while it tastes okay, seems to be missing that quality.

If I knew how to do this I could add it to many of my fruity flavors as well and make them soda flavors, and they would be really satusfying. Mmmm...

I have noticed it in TPA Mnt Dew. I vaguely remember reading on another thread in this forum that you could get a similar taste/feeling from tpa cinnamon and another one I can't remember. Maybe tpa champagne? If I find the original thread I will be sure to post the link.

Edit:

So I searched through the forum and found 2 threads that will probably help you out. I think the first thread is the one I remember reading before.

Yep, just the right amount of TPA/TFA's Cinnamon, Champagne, and/or Cola can make the juice feel like that. The problem becomes that each person's "right amount" seems to vary quite a bit. Mine seems to be high enough that most folks taste the underlying flavor I used to get it without feeling it.

And Linda is the brains that makes TPA. (We get very friendly with our vendors over time. Well, some of us do...)

Do you have any recipes or approximations to offer?

But, no cinnamon/champagne for bubbliness?
About 40% Cola flavoring and 60% Black Cherry flavoring from The Perfumer's Apprentice with about 20% (give or take) of total flavoring.

A drop of menthol can brighten it up and a drop of PGA can make it taste a bit cleaner, but I usually just put the two of these in and sweeten to taste.
