Also she is using the Istick 50w with Kanger sub tank.

I guess she just isn't ready, so be patient.

Also, that's a high powered device, and it's quite large too for a beginner. You could pick up something like a nice pink Spinner with a mini PT. That might be gentler on her throat. Tell her it's something she could use once in a while when she feels in the mood. Don't promote it as a way of quitting smoking, that can increase the pressure and maybe be intimidating. Make it something that's fun, which she can do along with smoking.

Thats an easy one....
Get her a straightjacket and keep her in it for 7 days and she'll be weaned off anything!.ha.....joking aside I had same problem and what worked for me was going to 0 nic......still on this after 7 months serious vaping and although I mix my own juices I should still imagine would be better for her..worth giving it a go,good luck to her..

I agree with trying a less powerful device. Also if she does not smoke inside the house you could promote vaping as a way to get her nic without having to go outside. That factor really motivated me to make the switch.
when it was cold she was trying it more but now that its warm she doesn't mind going out side.

Thanks englishmick I'll have to try that and if that doesn't work looks like its the straight jacket idea haha joking. Yeah I've just started getting into DIY so maybe try to mix her something with 0 nic.

Not too sure about the 0 nic thing. A low power device might resolve her throat problem regardless of nic level. And 0 isn't going to help much with the smoking. Let her try it with different nic levels, including zero. Different flavors until she finds one she likes. Most smokers need the nic. Without it all you have is a nice taste, which isn't much incentive to go on doing it.

Another thought. It always burns my throat a little first thing in the morning even after vaping quite a long time. So avoid mornings.

Basically it has to be fun, not intimidating, and some nic satisfaction. My wife still uses her cute little pink spinner.

I've been trying to make it fun for her like letting her pick out a silicone case for her istick and got her a chicks with wick vape band for her tank and drip tip of her choice. she seems to be giving it more of a shot since she got those things but still buys cigarettes maybe try getting the 1.2 coil heads and lowering her wattage think that might work

I would try to get her interested enough to go to a vape shop where she could try juice, they are usually setup on low powered devices with little or no nic. If she wants to quit let her pick something she enjoys and go from there. Just buying random setups and juices based on recommendations from the internet could get expensive and still may not yield any better results.

ETA: If she finds a setup and juice that feels like hers it may encourage her to give it a fair shot.

Yeah it seems like getting her a lowering setup to start out might be the way to go.

Oh and don't bug her about it. Most of us use to be smokers and the best way to get me to light one up was to tell my not to/ I can't have one. In fact I haven't had a cig in over a year and I still have half a pack. For me when I made the transition knowing I could smoke allowed me to not smoke, if that makes sense.

I agree, and all the better if she will go with you and if not buy it at the vape shop at least look at all the different styles and then get it online. People can get really attached to things they picked out to fit their personalities and if she really wants to quit that might just be the little push she needs. Plus well shopping. :)

Letting pick out her own setup is a great idea instead of her using my old Istick.

I've been vaping for almost 10 months now and my wife still smokes. She asks questions and I answer them, but I never pressure her. She even asked me to prep a couple of my old spinners and Aerotanks with some menthol so she would have something as a backup to her cigarettes. I'm not sure if she's even hit on them, but she has them. The desire to quit has to be hers and she has to want it. She knows she needs to quit, but she won't be pushed into vaping. Right now she's set with my old stuff. As soon as she decides it is time and makes a real attempt at it, I'll start buying her new equipment that she'll like.
