After a recent rash of cartomizer issues, I've dug out a couple of lr 510 atties I bought on a whim. I'm finding I loooove direct dripping. I'm nearly as satisfied with 3.7/lr as I was on my sr boges at 6v. Other than the obvious of get more power, how can I improve my dripping experience? I currently drip 3 drops at a time before it leaks... is there any way of increasing the atty capacity to maybe 4 or 5 drips? Is a rebuildable atty worth the investment? If not, any atties known for better flavor and vapor production?

Search ECF for "bonut", particularly in the Atomizer mods section of the Modding forum. Basically, you'll find instructions on using a stainless steel pipe screen to increase the capacity of your atty ;-)

Also, if you use a drip shield or a DCA you can get away with a few extra drops at a time, though it's still possible to flood the atty too much to vape well.

Best for flavor? I find 901 attys are good for flavor, a little better than a 510, but 306 attys give the best flavor. YMMV

More vapor? Well, standard resistance with higher voltage will do that to some extent. The best way to get billowing clouds of vapor when dripping is to use all-VG juice, IMO ;-)

I'm considering a 306DCA, a few MA306, and a stack of bonuts in next months budget. I don't know what to think of repairable atomizers though. I've been covetting the genisis style tank atties since I first saw them, but I'm not sure if a repairable for dripping is worth it. My monthly budget is fairly low compared to some, and a lot of these repairables will wipe the whole lot out and more. I keep hearing good things about the MA306 and $100 will buy quite a few of them, so should I just skip the rebuildable until I have a more generous budget?

I have been dripping for almost 2 years now and I have to say that out of all the attys I have tried 510's are still king in my opinion. Though a lot of folks rave about the 306 I find that they vape too hot and tend to burn my flavor and my lips. I use a Darwin and have tried them at several different settings, just not for me I guess. As far as genesis styles go, I have a "line" mini genesis and really had high hopes for it. They are a pain to set up and get working properly and even then I think that dripping tastes better. Tried the bonut too and to me, the stainless steel distorts the taste which also seems to be my problem with genesis style attys. Kinda like licking a penny but in vape form. Drip shields do rock and mine stays on the darwin at all times. Well worth the money if you ask me. My best advice is to just find which atty suits your preference, grab a nice drip tip and just vape your head off. Too me and many others dripping is the apex experience of vaping and it is hard to improve on something that is so good.

I tried a drip shield back when I was in love with the 901 atty. I found that while it did help with the leaking (the 901 is notorious for leaking out of that one hole) it restricted my draw too much, even boring out the hole didn't help much. All my 901's started dying on my after a day or two so I went back to cartos. (I've since started thinking that maybe it was a particular juice that was killing my 901s but I have yet to drag them back out and try them with another juice)
